The witness was fishing from a boat in a small cove with a relative during daytime. After hearing rustling in the woods, the witness observed a tall hairy figure in profile moving very quickly on two legs with its arms swaying. The relative did not see the figure. The witness initially considered a bear but rejected that idea because the figure lacked bear-like ears and a snout.

The witness was guiding two clients on a nighttime drift-boat trip at Beginner's Hole. After hooking something heavy that fought like a living animal, he watched it stand upright in the river about 30 feet below the boat, waist-deep with its arms moving as it worked free of the hook. While stopped at a picnic-area parking lot on the Pike's Peak road, the witness stood atop a large rock formation while a parent prepared to take a photograph from below. The witness reported noticing a black, large-bodied creature in motion about 100 feet behind the parent and shouted for the parent to look, but the parent did not turn. The creature was gone within a few seconds. The witness stated the animal was not a bear.

A team of four was conducting a nighttime sound survey from a clear-cut overlooking a river valley while one member did a live radio interview from a parked vehicle near the treeline. The interviewer heard repeated charging sounds, footfalls and a grunt-growl from dense brush a few feet away while two teammates uphill watched with a night-vision device. The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.

The witness was hiking with dogs on a packed snow trail when other dogs began barking at something ahead. He saw a gorilla-like furry creature sitting in the shade of a pine about 50 yards away watching the dogs. After he tripped in a snow hole, the creature left over the ridge, showing only the back of its head. Deep snow prevented him from following or finding tracks.

The witness waited alone in a small meadow while her husband hiked ahead with dogs. A strong putrid smell arrived with total silence as a huge dark mass approached to the wood line about 25 feet away and watched her for about ten minutes.
