The witness was hunting deer from a tree stand in the afternoon when a dark figure was seen walking along a distant ridge, visible from the waist up. The figure moved with a long stride and high, marching-like arm swings with open hands, then disappeared behind bushes. The witness then heard loud branch-breaking sounds followed by quiet, became uneasy, and left the area.

A later visitor examined a cast and said weight distribution argued against a fake shoe.

The witness was driving at night near a railroad crossing when he noticed a very large, light-colored, hair-covered creature walking along the road with its back toward him. As he drove closer and passed it, he screamed in terror while the creature continued walking without reacting. He stopped briefly at an intersection, feeling panicked and highly agitated, but did not look back at the creature's face.

Three teenagers staying overnight at a wilderness cabin woke after 1 a.m. to see a head and broad shoulders silhouetted in a moonlit upstairs window, with lightly glowing orange-red eyes peering inside. The witness and his girlfriend were driving east at night to look for deer when they noticed a figure walking west in a ditch beside the road. Because the ditch was about five feet below the roadway, they estimated the figure to be eight to nine feet tall. They described it as dark with wide shoulders moving easily through the ditch. They did not stop for a closer look and instead took a longer route back.

While bowhunting from a tree stand, the witness heard loud high-pitched shrieking and saw brush shaking as an unseen animal moved through thick briars. A hunting companion positioned below reportedly saw the animal on two legs and described it as apelike. Both left the area out of fear and did not return.

As a child the witness was at home at night with siblings and a cousin when the doorbell rang repeatedly with no one there. An older brother became hysterical after seeing something peeking from behind a tree and gesturing, and later a neighbor arrived saying something had followed him in the woods. Two older girls then saw a dark form at the bottom of a trail that moved and had red eyes, and also something with a cone-shaped head peeking around a garage, and the younger children later saw a large figure pass by a window.

At age 12 the guest and her older cousin went into thick woods near the family lake cabin to pick raspberries and became lost after filling buckets. While arguing about the way out, the guest saw a tall, lean, hairy man-like figure at very close range that studied her, moved its mouth, and held its hands out before looking toward the cousin. The figure then disappeared quickly, and the two children dumped their berries and ran out via a logging road to the grandmother's house, keeping the incident secret for years.
