He then watched it cross the road and go down an embankment into the woods, seeing its wide shoulders, dark hair, and thin dog-like ears on a dome-shaped head.

The friend suddenly stared at one section of woods and told the guest to get ready, then withdrew without explanation. At first they thought a trunk-like arm was an elephant. It remained motionless watching them for a long time while they tried and failed to go outside because the door was locked.

It moved extremely fast on two legs, cleared the road in about two steps, then stopped at the road edge.
