The younger son came from outside saying a face had appeared on the hill by the fence and then was gone. After the father returned from work the family inspected the spot and found a large foot-shaped impression in tall grass, an area of flattened grass behind the fence, and a plain trail leading up the hill into the woods.

The witness drove into the mountains near Shaver with his dog for a day hike to clear his head. About fifteen feet away a reddish female creature stood up from behind a manzanita bush while a large black male charged down from about two hundred yards away. The witness covered his dog in a fetal position until the male stopped close by, then tossed an apple which the female grabbed and ate whole before both walked toward the ridge. Afterwards he found a reddish puddle of blood behind the bush and left quickly.

About two weeks after the bedside entity, the witness was again alone in bed when he heard his loud-clicking door open. A very tall shadow outline wearing a wide-brim hat stood in the doorway. His vision went dark, then the door was shut and the figure was gone.

After arriving and finding everything fine, they inspected the rear storage yard, felt heavy oppressive air, and found concentric circles carved in dust and rock extending about fifty feet.

They challenged a suspected poacher, then heard clear bipedal footsteps outside their tent during rain. Lightning illuminated a massive man-like shadow on the tent with very long arms, which then ran away, prompting them to abandon camp for the farmhouse.

After getting out of the car, the witness saw a tall light-furred creature with a dog-like head, long neck, and human-like torso standing behind a truck. The witness backed toward the house while watching it, noticed the family dog hiding, and went inside. The witness later compared the size and eyes to nearby objects.
