Early morning encounter during a rest stop near Florida City
Two friends drove into the Everglades park in the early morning and parked at a pine habitat to nap in their car. They were awakened by an ape-like animal looking into the tinted windows, touching the car, and then rummaging through a nearby dumpster for an extended period while emitting a strong rotten odor. The animal eventually walked away howling, and the witnesses drove to Flamingo where they reported the encounter to rangers.

In 1994 the witness was hunting on a farm in Florida when a strong foul odor was noticed. Shortly after turning a curve, the witness saw a tall brown bipedal animal about 40 yards away that turned and ran very quickly into the woods. A deep grunt-like vocalization was also heard. With headlights and then high beams on, they watched it for a couple of minutes as it stood and moved its head from side to side. They then drove past it and rushed into the house to tell the occupants and check everyone was alright.

The witness and a relative were driving in the early evening as a storm approached. About 30 yards ahead they saw four hair-covered bipeds walking single file east across the road from dense woods on one side to dense woods on the other. The figures ranged in size and were holding hands, moving with long strides without appearing hurried. The witnesses did not stop and reported no unusual sounds or odors during this encounter.

The creature stared, then stepped toward the ditch as the group fled in panic.

After hearing tearing vegetation, ground banging and a loud shrieking scream, large clods of mud were thrown at and onto the boat. Shining a headlamp, the witness saw a huge brown-haired biped about 25 to 30 feet away pumping its arms in an aggressive display, then started the boat and fled to the middle of a nearby lake until daylight and has avoided the spot since.

The men then left for a motel for the remainder of the job.

The figure dropped to all fours, moved into the road, then stood bipedally and crossed slowly in front of the car, forcing a brake. After passing, it dropped to all fours again, glanced back, and left into the woods. Both occupants agreed it was not a bear or monkey and described it as about four and a half to five feet tall, dark brown and ape-like.

Late at night while traveling by car toward Mexico Beach, Florida, the witness encountered an animal squatting at the edge of the pavement near County Road 386 and Highway 98. As the car approached, the animal jumped up and ran bipedally across the road in front of the car into woods on the other side. It was described as about five to six feet tall with long dark shaggy hair with red highlights, and its face was not recalled.
