The guest relayed his cousins' drive home past woods and a cemetery lit by a single light, where they saw a hairy form standing under the light with light reflecting off its fur. The driver reportedly fainted from fear while the passenger braked the car, feared leaving the vehicle, later moved to drive away, and noted other motorists stopping with flashlights. The cousins had previously ridiculed their father's warnings and were shaken afterward.

The figure turned toward the car and was recognized as a tall, fur-covered canine-like being that then ran toward them on two legs before dropping to four. They accelerated away onto the winding road toward the interstate and did not return.

The witness was driving west before dawn when a dark, hairy biped crossed the road in front of the vehicle. The figure crossed from left to right in a few strides and disappeared over the roadside bank. After stopping and backing up to the spot, the witness reported a musty smell, faint brush movement, and a feeling of being watched before driving away.

A child walking home from the bus stop through woods climbed onto a stump and noticed a tall black figure about 15 feet away breathing heavily and rocking with its arms at its sides. The figure turned its head to follow the child as the child backed toward the pavement and then ran home. The child told both parents about the encounter, and the father later submitted it after noticing a similar nearby report.

Late on Thanksgiving night in 2003, the witness was driving home on Route 50 near Burlington after dropping off a friend. She braked to avoid a large black animal crossing the road on all fours. The animal reached the far side, turned to look at her with orange eye reflection in the headlights, and she fled home in distress.

The witness routinely checks dog kennels from a bathroom window at night without turning on lights. At about 3 a.m. the witness saw a tall hair-covered biped standing beyond the pens, which walked a short distance, stopped, then left into surrounding woods. The witness woke a relative who also saw the animal though less clearly, while the kennel dogs remained silent in their houses.

While deer hunting and watching does move east, the witness saw a tall hairy biped walking silently through the woods. When the witness stood up the figure turned to face him, then ran back to the west and disappeared quickly and quietly. The witness left the area and later decided not to hunt there again.

Late on a winter night the witness took the dog outside and saw a large hair-covered figure standing near a small building about 20-25 feet away. The witness and figure observed each other while the dog wanted to go inside and a strong foul smell was present. After briefly looking away at a noise, the witness went inside for a handgun, and on returning the figure was gone though sounds remained in the woods. A large footprint was found the next day.

The witness was driving westbound with a companion at about 1:30 a.m. when a very large dark figure ran across the highway from south to north. The crossing lasted about three seconds and the companion was certain it was on two legs. The companion became frightened and urged them to keep driving as fast as possible.

About 500 yards away across a steep, icy shale opening they had just crossed, they watched a very dark, tall bipedal figure cross quickly without difficulty. The witness climbed into a tree stand before dawn to bow hunt. While it was still dark, something breathed heavily beneath the stand for about 10 minutes then walked away to the southeast. Shortly after sunrise in light fog, the witness saw a large human-like figure about 100 yards away walking east at a fast pace. After climbing down, the witness followed its footprints eastward.

Three youths arriving home late at night saw a person-like form rise from where it had appeared as a stump near the water about 150 feet away. The figure walked quickly east along the shore, then turned and moved quickly back across the yard toward marshy woods by the trailer while making heavy running sounds. The youths rushed inside the residence and locked the door, remaining upset through the night.

Two coworkers were pumping feed into silos on a turkey farm after midnight. One smelled an unfamiliar odor and shone a spotlight, spotting an animal behind a barn picking objects from the ground and blocking the light with its hand. He alerted his coworker, who also shone his light, saw the large creature walking toward him, then retreated to the front of the farm.
