The witness was walking home from pheasant hunting on a ridge before dark. He noticed a dark upright figure about a quarter-mile away walking toward the mountains. He shouted twice; it turned its whole upper body to look at him once, then kept walking. He watched for about 15 minutes until it disappeared, speculating it had been lying down before standing up.
Logging crew has daytime sighting
Four coworkers at a cable logging site noticed movement across a canyon. Two of them watched the subject for about 15 minutes through a rifle scope from about 2500 feet away. They described an upright two-legged figure with broad shoulders, reddish-brown hair and a pointed head moving unhurriedly toward a ridge until it disappeared. After work they discussed the sighting and concluded it was a bigfoot.

In early July 1972 the witness was slowly driving family members on a faint dirt track atop a broad ridge when upright human-like figures appeared ahead to the left. He first saw one figure, then three together, then a fourth, all uniformly dark and bulky, milling and then walking steadily toward a ravine and treeline. Despite waving and honking, the figures continued away and disappeared into trees within about 45 seconds at no closer than about 100-125 yards, while the witness's wife partially awoke and briefly saw them.

After hearing dogs bark, smelling a strong foul odor, and hearing footsteps on an outside plank, she saw a tall hunched hairy female figure pass a glass door. Four ape-like animals repeatedly approached the trailers, peered in windows, vocalized at night, left tracks, damaged structures, and killed livestock. The father shot the largest animal in the shoulder near the pump house, after which the animals moved faster and more cautiously but continued the activity. Forestry and law-enforcement visitors reportedly told the father to stop shooting, and timber workers and well drillers also encountered the animals.

The witness was driving a spray rig along an orchard boundary and scanning a neighboring field when a tall dark figure was seen walking about 100-150 yards away. The witness stopped the vehicle and watched from the hood as the figure moved with a smooth human-like stride into a walnut grove and did not reappear. A few days later the witness estimated the figure's height from a comparison tree and found no footprints on the hard soil.
