The witness was camping with friends in a Utah canyon and became separated alone in the woods while playing a nighttime game. After hearing a grunt and a deep growl and seeing an arm wrap around a tree, he watched a tall, muscular, thin-haired biped step between trees while staring at him. He fled toward approaching headlights, fell down a drop to the road breaking his collarbone, and was picked up by a passing couple who took him to a ranger station.

The witness and his younger brother were rabbit hunting in desert west of Tooele, walking separate lines toward a ravine. The brother yelled and pointed east at a jet-black, long-haired giant wolf-like animal running fast across the field. Both shot at it many times with no apparent effect, then lost it in a ravine with no blood or tracks, noting the area had gone quiet.

The witness and his mother were looking out the kitchen window at home. They watched a small black short-haired monkey-like animal jog across the empty field behind the house toward the mountains to the east. After about a minute the animal went down into a ditch and out of sight.

While a group was slowly driving and looking for deer, two young men riding in the back of the pickup saw a dark, long-armed figure walking quickly across an open grassy ridge toward pines. They described long strides and swinging arms and said it walked fast rather than ran. They banged on the cab to stop the driver, but the people in the cab did not see it.
