The witness was up early for school at a remote home when the dog began barking hysterically toward the canyon. The witness looked out the kitchen window and saw a tall hair-covered biped running into the canyon with a side-to-side motion. The witness ran to alert parents, but by the time they reached the window it was gone except for a brief last glimpse between bushes.

While riding in the back seat during a family drive through Phantom Canyon, the witness saw a large dark furry biped among cows beside the road. In summer 1977 two hikers descending the west side of Pikes Peak noticed a distant figure in a meadow. Viewed through binoculars, it appeared as a single tall, dark, hairy animal with very long arms and stride that moved downhill into trees in seconds. They did not photograph it, hear any sound from it, or encounter it again during two further days of fishing and camping.

The witness and a companion were hiking in the Lost Creek wilderness on a sunny Sunday morning when they watched a creature near a pond from 100-150 feet for about 45 seconds. The creature was initially bent over and first taken for a bear, then stood erect and looked at them, provoking intense fear. The pair later returned with photographers but found no trace.

When the driver switched the headlights on, those in the front seat noticed a large hair-covered human-like creature emerging from a deep roadside ditch about 20 feet away. The driver drove away quickly while the witness kept watching the still creature, which had wide eyes and an open mouth, as they passed.

The witness was camping with family and climbed a hill with cousins, rolling rocks from the top. They heard crashing in aspens across a ravine and saw a tall, long-haired figure standing on two legs about 300 feet away watching them for several minutes. After watching it rock back and forth, the group ran back down the hill. The witness maintains decades later that it was not a bear.

Three elk hunters walking back toward camp heard a loud crash and chased what they assumed was a bull elk to the rim of a deep, steep-sided canyon. From across the canyon the reporter watched through a rifle scope as a tall, black-haired biped ran up the opposite slope on two feet and briefly turned to show its face in profile before entering the trees. The group chose not to pursue closely, later backtracked the trail toward the highway, and examined broken vegetation and footprints the following day.

While gathering firewood during a family picnic along the river, the witness felt watched and looked up. He saw a large hair-covered human-like figure standing on a rocky ledge across the river. The figure looked back briefly, then turned and disappeared. The whole encounter lasted about thirty seconds.
Daylight sighting by woodsman of two bipeds stalking an elk
The witness was positioned on one mountainside watching across a valley toward an opposite slope where an elk was being stalked by two large brown animals first taken for bears. Viewed through binoculars, the two stood upright and walked on two legs, keeping the elk between them and at times hiding behind trees before entering heavy timber after about five minutes. The outcome for the elk was not seen, but the witness thought the pair probably killed it.

A hunting guide and a young client spotted a Sasquatch below some mule deer. The client fired despite being told not to, wounding the smaller one. A larger one charged, jammed rifle failed, and the guide fled after seeing it tear the client apart. Authorities were said to have recovered body parts and recorded it as a [name withheld] attack.

The witness and his father were watching elk behind their home when the herd suddenly stampeded. Using binoculars they saw a tall brownish figure with black chest patches running bipedally at unnatural speed toward where the elk fled. It paused briefly then ran off and was not seen again.

The figure glanced at him, appeared to shrug, then continued into the woods. The encounter occurred in broad daylight.

Years later a friend told the guest that he and his father were snowmobiling in the same area when one machine got stuck. A Sasquatch reportedly charged from the tree line toward the father, who fled to the friend and both left on one machine. They later returned with relatives and firearms to retrieve the abandoned snowmobile.

The cousin later found the abandoned snowmobiles torn apart.

The witness lived for two to three months in a rock overhang above a canyon stream, fishing with traps and hunting small game. A large hairy creature repeatedly raided his fish traps, exchanged rock throws, accepted camp bread, used a larger trap left for it and took deer remains. After an ice storm the witness developed severe pneumonia with high fever and could not tend his fire. He reported the creature looking in on him, leaving meat, a headless rabbit and herbs he boiled, then carrying him down the canyon over hours or days until a couple in a converted school bus found him and got him to a hospital.

The witness spent a few days watching from a hill while the wind kept his scent away. He watched adult females keep young in trees, lay with babies, coo, pet them and release a sweet spiced-honey-like scent. When a distant holler sounded the group got up and moved away.
