As a toddler the witness was sitting on her grandmother's porch when two small chimp-like creatures grabbed her diaper and tried to drag her toward the woods. Her grandmother beat one with a broom handle until it released her, while the other seized the family dog and carried it up a tree. Her uncle then shot and killed one creature, and responding sheriff's personnel instructed the family to burn and bury the carcass on the property, where it was said to remain.

During the night the witness woke and saw a shadowy female outline at the window, then a full female figure in white at the foot of the bed. A staff member the next morning said a woman had died there giving birth in the 1800s and watches over young boys.
