The witness moved toward the tree line to avoid being silhouetted, then retreated to a truck and slapped the tailgate, after which the figure dropped to all fours and disappeared within seconds.

After retreating to their camper and later going back outside, the companions pointed out movement by a white oak. Immediately behind the doe, a large hair-covered biped walked across an open gap of about 30 feet between cedar trees without making noise.
