It growled with a low growl the witness had never heard. They backed away without turning their backs and ran for the truck once it was out of sight.

The witness and a friend were quail hunting on the family property and heard steps following them through dense woods. After crossing a fence they watched a tall hairy biped step over the fence and move between trees to watch them before heading toward a creek. About an hour later the witness returned with older female relatives and saw a different-colored hairy leg and foot watching them from behind trees near the road.

The witness and his older brother were fishing with family at a pond and left to search the ground for rocks and small animals. After hearing a loud crash they saw what looked like a dead tree fall into a deep crevasse. When they reached the edge they saw the tree-like shape running away on the property, and they fled back to their family.

When the figure noticed her watching, it turned and moved backward up a steep incline on hands and feet without breaking eye contact. The movement was described as smooth and spider-like, and frightened her enough to leave.

In broad daylight they watched a small shaggy juvenile about three and a half feet tall peering from a cane break about 80 yards away. He watched two larger and two smaller animals take corn by dragging it with a stick and then eating the kernels. Two campers sitting by a fire had something walk through camp and stand about twenty feet behind them, and one screamed hysterically and was taken for medical care. No footprints were found because the ground was packed hard.

Two girls were walking in woods near home looking for a tree to climb when they encountered an upright beige-haired gorilla-like creature in a clearing. The creature first appeared bent over, then straightened and seemed to notice them, causing both girls to run home and immediately tell a parent. The parent did not inspect the site because the girls were too frightened to return. An investigator later interviewed both witnesses as adults and they maintained the same account.
