The witness and her younger sister were talking in a dark bedroom late at night when they heard twigs crunching outside. Looking out the window in bright moonlight, they saw a very large hairy bipedal animal in the yard. Their grandfather came to the room, knocked out the window screen and fired a rifle at it. The animal bellowed, ran on two legs and stepped over a barbed-wire fence toward a creek, and no sign was found the next day.

In the summer of 1959 the witness was working as a counselor at a wooded Girl Scout camp. Over roughly two weeks, staff repeatedly heard footsteps moving through the tent area after dark, saw a dark figure near a hut, and found a director's tent ransacked, with deputies searching each day without finding anyone. On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.

A teenager checking muskrat traps before school with a dog noticed the dog staying close and growling. On a steep bank the witness saw a tall hair-covered figure with a non-human face and a foul smell. The figure quickly walked and ran away across a field, stepping over a six-foot gate without touching it. The witness left without finding tracks because the ground was frozen and snow later covered the area.

The witness, then a teenager, was riding with his brother and a friend in an old pickup checking irrigation on his father's walnut ranch when they spotted a tall hairy biped moving through the orchard. They chased it by farm roads as it ran uphill diagonally across a 40-acre block, stopped to watch it pass close by, then followed it across more blocks until it crossed a road and disappeared into dense brush on a neighboring property. Afterwards they inspected its long strides in wet ground and decided not to tell his father for fear of losing their irrigation job.

In 1958 the guest's father and his brother-in-law were driving home after hauling hay when they passed a big white hairy creature standing and yelling by an old house and corral. They turned around twice to look again, seeing it shaking its hands up and down with long hair on its arms and body, before it was gone on the third pass.

The store owner came out and also watched it. After watching them for two to three minutes while hunkered down, the figure stood, walked away along the ridge looking back, and disappeared into timber.

The witness was on night guard duty at a Marine camp when a dog walking with them began barking. The witness looked up and saw a tall figure covered in light-brown hair standing nearby that did not move when encouraged to chase it. After the witness chambered a round in a rifle, the figure ran away on two legs and was not seen again.

As a child hunting in snowy woods along a creek, the witness came over a hill and watched a tall black hairy figure moving around a stick hut in a blackberry patch and picking berries. After the figure noticed the witness, it left very quickly. The witness then reported a multi-hour gap with no memory of leaving before arriving home.

Two children playing hide-and-seek ran into an alley and came face to face with a tall, dark-haired bipedal animal about fifteen feet away walking toward them. Inside the dark crib the witness heard heavy breathing and saw a huge hairy man-like creature standing over them staring, with a hog-pen-like smell. When the witness was a child of about eight, he was walking home from school on a lakeside trail in the Oregon Cascades on a clear summer afternoon. He reportedly saw a large fur-covered creature crouched drinking at the water's edge about 150 to 200 feet away. The creature then stood upright and stared at him, and he ran back up the trail.
