The witness and four family members were driving home on a rural highway in the early morning when their pickup passed a tall hair-covered figure standing beside the vehicle on a narrow bridge. The witness described looking directly at its human-like, wrinkled face and noting its stiff posture against the railing. The group briefly considered turning back but continued on, later concluding the figure was neither a man nor a bear.

In early July 1972 the witness was slowly driving family members on a faint dirt track atop a broad ridge when upright human-like figures appeared ahead to the left. He first saw one figure, then three together, then a fourth, all uniformly dark and bulky, milling and then walking steadily toward a ravine and treeline. Despite waving and honking, the figures continued away and disappeared into trees within about 45 seconds at no closer than about 100-125 yards, while the witness's wife partially awoke and briefly saw them.

They heard grunting and saw a tall hairy figure standing among ferns eating the tops. While turning the truck around, the writer saw a large dark hairy biped about 50 feet behind them look at them and keep going.

The creature was initially bent over and first taken for a bear, then stood erect and looked at them, provoking intense fear. The pair later returned with photographers but found no trace.

The witness was sitting quietly while squirrel hunting in Magoffin County in late September 1972 when he saw a large reddish-brown creature about 70 yards away. Afterward the witness found several large human-shaped footprints where the creature had walked.

A teenager and an older neighbor spent the night on a boat at a marina to catch suspected vandals. During the night the teenager saw a huge hair-covered figure crouched at an overturned trashcan scooping garbage, then stand upright and stare briefly. The figure stepped over the trashcan, sprang up an embankment, and disappeared into brush, leaving disturbed dew, strewn garbage, and broken brush.

The witness reports that while staying at the parents' rural property with a friend around dusk in late summer 1972, they observed a large hairy figure filling the barn doorway from about a hundred yards away. While fleeing the farm on foot, the witness left the gravel road and became stuck in deep swamp muck and water. A large hairy bipedal female emerged from the tree line, waded to him, lifted him by his jacket, carried him back to the roadside ditch, and left. The farm operator arrived shortly after and transported the witness back to the farm.

Late at night after a loud bang on the van and seeing a shadow, nearby campers fled, then the group watched a tall hairy biped with a dog-like snout descend a rocky ridge, heard a loud growl, and were pelted with gravel before fleeing the park before dawn.

The witness was riding as a front-seat passenger in a car of teenagers driving slowly on a country road at night with headlights off. When the driver switched the headlights on, those in the front seat noticed a large hair-covered human-like creature emerging from a deep roadside ditch about 20 feet away. The driver drove away quickly while the witness kept watching the still creature, which had wide eyes and an open mouth, as they passed.

While hunting from a tree stand shortly after sunrise, the witness saw a frightened deer run by followed by two upright hairy figures. The witness fled toward a nearby farmhouse, fired a rifle shot overhead and shouted, while movement and noise paralleled him in the woods.

Two teenagers walking west along a feeder stream around midday saw four dark creatures about 75 yards away on and around the stream bank. The largest stood about eight feet tall while the others were sitting, lying, and standing in the water, and the group watched the witnesses for a few minutes. The pair ran east to a power-line cut and then south to a highway, went home, and told only their parents.

A parent then pulled the children inside and shut the door, and the next morning trash was scattered and the lid was bent.

The witness was resting on a mountainside overlooking a valley and lake when they noticed a large dark figure emerge from trees at the bottom. The figure climbed a steep clear-cut hill in about a minute without stopping, swinging its arms with hands appearing below the knees. It continued over the top and into the trees. The witness emphasized its large size, dark color, and unusually fast steady pace.
