One morning the headlights lit a tall slender hair-covered humanoid standing in the road. Noting its overlong arms and matted hair, the driver kept going as it stepped into lava rock terrain, then stopped to look but found nothing.

The elder said little people were inside messing with the wiring and would not cause harm. The disturbance stopped after they went back inside.

Years later the same witness was riding in a car at night with two friends toward a coastal campground. She saw a large dark figure standing on a steep slope beside the road. A grapefruit-sized rock struck the roof of the car and dented it, and the group continued driving.

As he accelerated to pull onto the road he felt an unseen hand slap his leg onto the brake pedal. The animal allegedly grabbed the rear tire, throwing the rider over the handlebars, then bent the mountain bike in half and threw it about 20 feet up into a tree. The child ran home and an officer who investigated reportedly found the mangled bike in the tree with no explanation.
