At about fourteen the guest was night-fishing with his father on phosphate-mine land when his father boated out to full traps and left him alone on the bank. He heard sticks breaking and louder thrashing, then saw movement in myrtle bushes and a tall tree shaking violently while a loud whoa-whoa vocalization sounded. He fled to the locked truck, and his father dismissed the sound as a cow.

While growing up on a rural property, the witness and family regularly heard loud screams at night that sounded like a woman. They also heard something pushing trees in the woods. The family treated this as a normal part of life and tried to be indoors by dark.

The witness and a tent-mate camped far from roads to be ready for an early volunteer shift. The tent-mate stayed awake most of the night hearing something walking around the woods that seemed to approach the tent, but headlamp checks showed nothing. In the morning both saw a nearby tree, about 50 to 75 feet from the tent, that had been pushed over during the night.

The witness alone watched a tall hairy figure climb a steep slope the next morning, break a small live tree with one hand, and leave a large human-like footprint.

After finding a huge footprint in snow, the witness and his friend returned armed the next day and followed branch markers placed high in trees. In a shallow ravine they heard gibberish chattering, then silence, then three trees fell and screams came from three directions while the ground shook. They fled down to a logging trail where a huge red creature screamed at the witness from about ten feet away before the pursuit stopped near an old train road and river.

As teenagers the witness and a friend set up a tent and campfire with the witness's dog. The dog hid its tail, a distant tree top visibly fell, and a deep guttural roar sounded. The dog fled and was found towns away weeks later, while the two boys abandoned all gear and returned the next day to find it untouched.

Late at night the witness heard activity outside, put out a recorder, and heard rocks clacked together and an extremely loud branch break up the hill. He also saw a large upright human-shaped silhouette move quickly and silently between trees about 50 yards away. He concluded a second individual made the uphill sounds while the seen one moved downhill.

The guest's brother with his sister and her boyfriend shot an elk and were gutting it by a road. Elk scattered oddly, tree breaking was heard, and a large rock landed on the road without rolling. The pregnant sister vomited and returned to the truck, thinking she knew what it was.

A young child reported a furry smelly cowman at the field edge, followed by an older sibling being followed by heavy footsteps and a father finding long coarse hair on a loosened fence wire. That evening the father and son were chased from the woods, night howls with whoops continued, and a large shape spoke and made faces at the bedroom window. The mother shot at an arm reaching for the child, the family fled, and returning days later found the house interior violently torn apart.

The witness's wife heard shaking around the chicken coop then limb breaking in the front woods, believing two individuals were present. Days later the witness found a teepee-like limb structure and a path blocked by placed limbs. He also noted a taller similar structure in the back woods near where he had seen the figure.

A day or so after the eyeshine, the witness noticed two skinny trees broken at the same height near the shed. He pushed one over and pulled the other from the ground. He concluded they were limbs stuck in the ground, not growing trees.

The father took his sons and dogs to swim in park pools when they smelled raw sewage and a pine tree broke into three pieces about 100 yards away. The father saw a figure moving between trees and then a tall creature about 40 feet away walking away across the parking area. They heard repeated loud grunts and later whoop calls and left quickly.

The witness and a companion hid in a camouflaged blind at night using night vision and listening gear. After hearing loud footsteps, heavy breathing and branches snapping close by, the witness saw a tall shaggy creature about twenty feet away scraping at the ground for a couple minutes before standing, looking around and leaving down the valley.

While pushing into the bush, a teammate halted the witness and stared at the canopy. The teammate reported a branch pulled over with eyes and a face looking down that released when seen. Moments later a large birch toppled over in calm conditions, and both retreated.

While setting out food one evening after a tree fell, the guest heard something large approach fast and saw two red eyes facing him. He recorded about five minutes as it looked at him and toward loud brush-tearing nearby, its eyes shifting color in the light. It later peeked from behind a tree about ten feet away before withdrawing. Next morning he found a track and a freshly split tree where it stood.

Unreported knocks, tree breaks, rock-throwing, howls and grunts were reportedly seen and heard in the area over many prior years.

On a later visit to the same area to collect rocks, the friend and his partner were overcome with fear when something pulled a tree from the ground. They saw nothing, fled on a four-wheeler, and the friend vowed never to make calls again.

The witness found a small tree snapped off high up with no other damage around and photographed it. Separately he found a fresh fawn carcass on a trail he had just used that looked pulled in half. Both frightened him and he sent photos to the host.
