Possible tracks found close to Giant Forest Museum in Sequoia National Park
The witness was hiking with family near Bear Hill Trail and photographing the children when two large, deep footprints with distinct toes and heels were noticed on a hillside. A third similar print was later found higher up on the trail, and photos and video were taken including the witness's own foot for scale. The witness also heard a twig snap uphill but saw no person or animal.
Wood knock in California (2018)
The witness and friends camped at a small creekside site off a mountain road in late June 2018. After evening knocking sounds and a strong musky odor at night, a large human-like creature with yellow eyes appeared at the witness's tent, grabbed it, lifted and dropped the witness inside, then left in a few steps after a shot was fired. The group saw large footprints, later heard whoops from multiple directions, and had a basketball-sized rock thrown at their truck while leaving.
Possible encounter at night by hunters camping at Virginia Lakes
A family was camped in a trailer near a treeline with a deer carcass stored nearby. During the night the family was awakened by rocks hitting the trailer, knocking sounds, growls, screams and whoops. The witness later went outside with a flashlight and saw a single glowing red eye high in the treeline. In the morning stacked rocks were gone, footprints were found, and a large pine by the carcass had been pushed over.
Footprints found along snow covered road near Whiskeytown Lake
Three people riding horses in snow noticed large bare-foot tracks with toes alongside many animal tracks. The main trackway came up from a gulch, followed the road, then returned downhill, with smaller tracks joining from a steep draw. They examined the prints up close and photographed them, noting three sizes with the largest about 17 inches long.
Two young men hiking outside Tehachapi come across possible tracks
While hiking to search for lost sunglasses, the witness noticed a large human-like barefoot track. The companion later viewed the track and estimated the maker would be at least seven feet tall and the track a few days old. The pair kept watch while returning to the car, and snow fell after they reached home.

A relative found large tracks behind a horse pasture two days after a snowstorm, and the witness followed them about half a mile toward ponds, then photographed and measured them. The tracks were reported as having a 52-inch stride, toe indications and hair-like lines, with one track 17 inches long. Warm rain washed the tracks away before an investigator could view them in person.

The witness camped alone on a mountain ridge during deer season. Late in the evening he heard a single loud guttural pop-like sound nearby that he took as an animal warning. The next morning he found very large human-like footprints and followed them about 75 yards through a saddle before resuming hunting. He photographed the first print with a cell phone.
Tree break in California (2008)
During 2008 visits to the creek area, the witness and a companion found snapped trees in a circle, bent culverts, and a fetus-like object in water that was later discarded. Climbing to a level vegetated spot, they found a deer carcass with snapped bones and large tracks around it, described as a lair.
Possible sighting by family walking their dog near Auburn
The witness and four family members walked a trail by a lake near dusk. After moving a large branch from the path, they found wet foot-shaped prints leading uphill and saw two dark human-like shapes lying still in the woods. They heard bipedal footsteps that stopped and started with them, then left and returned later to photograph and measure the prints and hear more steps and a breath-like sound.
Possible brief daylight sighting by a U.S. Forest Service botonist outside Phillips
The witness was hiking slowly off-trail in the morning when he saw a tall dark figure peering around a large stump from about 100 feet away. The two stared at each other for about two seconds, then the figure vanished before the witness reached the stump. The witness then found a large footprint nearby and photographed it beside a radio.
Possible road-crossing sighting in daylight near Strawberry
The witness stopped along a one-lane road to let dogs out and glimpsed two dark figures crossing the road quickly at a curve, seeing only their upper halves. The figures disappeared around the turn and were not seen again despite visibility of the road beyond. About an hour later the witness returned and found a slide mark and a possible ball-and-toe impression on the muddy bank where the figures had crossed. The witness first took them for hooded people but later considered them possibly bigfoots due to their appearance, upright bipedal movement, and lack of a trail.
Possible sighting and howls heard by deer hunters in John Muir Wilderness
Two deer hunters hiking back to camp at dusk near Heart Lake heard loud bellowing howls and watched a deer flee through brush. They then saw a tall dark figure on the ridgeline that first resembled a standing bear but looked like neither a bear nor a man through a rifle scope. The figure ran downhill after the deer and disappeared into brush, and the hunters later found a very large footprint where it had stood.
Hiker leaves main trail and finds two sets of footprints
The witness left the main trail alone to explore off-trail toward a nearby lake. In damp decomposed granite he found two sets of fresh footprints, one smaller human-like set and a larger deeper set superimposed on it as if one maker was following the other. The tracks were lost in pine needles nearby, and the witness left to rejoin his companion.
Man sees and photographs large print on shore of Lake Tahoe
Two people walking a gravel beach at Lake Tahoe found a very large, deep print in the beach gravel, with other less clear prints nearby. The best print had stones on the bottom highly compressed as if by great weight and was part of a straight trackway from near the dock toward the water. The witness emphasized its depth and large size compared to a human foot and said they could not make a similar track.
Family finds trackway near Bear Valley
The witness was driving with family on a snow-covered road near Bear Valley looking for a sledding spot. About a mile from Highway 4 they noticed a line of large deep impressions in the snow on the shoulder and stopped to examine them. The impressions lacked toe detail after melting and freezing, measured about 16 inches long, and formed a straight line with strides of 56 to 60 inches that the witness could not match. The witness photographed the trail and submitted it as a possible track trail.
Hikers Find Multiple Tracks Near Covelo
The witness with companions found unusual elongated footprints without claw marks in mud on a dirt road. They photographed several prints with a tape measure for scale, followed one set for about 20 yards, and noted three different sizes. Bear tracks seen nearby looked distinctly different.
Mountain runner spots large, deep footprints on Stuart Fork Trail in Trinity Alps
The witness was hiking and running on the Stuart Fork Trail where it enters Morris Meadows when he noticed about a dozen large footprints beside the trail. The prints were estimated at about 15 inches long and over four feet apart and appeared much deeper than nearby boot prints, with debris pressed into them. The witness photographed the prints but noted the trail gets heavy use, suggested a prank or overlapping boot prints as likely, and stated he does not believe in Bigfoot.
Deer hunter finds possible footprints on Mt. Breckenridge
While deer hunting with a relative in hilly terrain, the witness became lost and crossed a ravine onto another game trail. There the witness found several large human-like footprints pressed deeply into the trail leading downhill until the ground became too rough to follow. The witness also noted unusually little animal activity in the area.
Couple see large prints near Orick
The witness and a companion were walking dogs along Redwood Creek in the afternoon and waded across to examine sandbars on the south bank. A short distance upstream they found three large footprints that appeared to enter the water. The clearest print was long and narrow with five toes and no arch, measured at about 14.5 inches with about a 4-foot stride, and no clear exit trail was located.

The witness was scouting an area southwest of Louse Camp near Bluff Creek in the morning and found a single large footprint in an old mud puddle, which they recorded on video. The print was described as 16 inches long and almost 6 inches wide at the heel. Several snapped trees were also noted in the area.
