That night multiple creatures attacked their cabin, throwing rocks and trying to enter from all sides including the roof. The men fired back until just before dawn when the creatures left.

The trail led to the tree where the thermal figure had been, with prints around it suggesting something had stood and watched.

He braked hard, stalled, and left without approaching. Next day he and his sister-in-law measured the branch at 10 feet at the jaw and followed heel-drag scuffs and heel prints toward dark timber.
