Driving home at night after a Fourth of July visit, the witness first saw a tall figure cross the highway and then pass within 8 to 12 feet as it pushed a branch aside under a vapor light. He braked hard, stalled, and left without approaching. Next day he and his sister-in-law measured the branch at 10 feet at the jaw and followed heel-drag scuffs and heel prints toward dark timber.

At about age 12 the witness found a gigantic bare footprint in a mud slick by an irrigated lettuce field. He tried to mimic it with his own foot and could not. Feeling watched and seeing a shadow move behind trees after branch snaps, he ran home.

While calling from a mesa in daylight, a large black animal approached on all fours from several hundred yards away. During a multi-night backyard campout last summer, the guest heard bipedal walking in tall grass, pacing, rubbing on the tall tent, and a low continuous growl and dragging sound approaching her head. On another night the girls felt a hand drag over and push down the tent top before it jumped a retaining wall, leaving two foot-shaped impressions in clover leading to the woods.

On a hot summer afternoon about three years earlier, the guest watched the pool and noticed a large black boulder-like shape at the swamp edge that had not been there before. It stayed motionless then vanished while she was inside briefly. Her husband later found matted grass and followed tracks halfway around the swamp.
