A laborer picking berries was attacked by a hairy giant called Bosco that clawed his throat and struck him with a 25-pound window weight. Witnesses, tracks, bitten trees, eaten dog remains, and asphalt footprints were reported. The creature was seen swimming, eating fish, and peering into buildings.

A very tall hair-covered wild woman was reported riding a taken balance wheel and encountering a peddler with a horse. She allegedly broke the horse's neck with one jerk, rendered the peddler unconscious, and dragged the horse to the woods where bones were later found. Pursuers found huge footprints and piles of rattlesnake skins but did not locate her.

A father and son were returning from an unsuccessful hunting trip when the father stopped by a fallen tree to light his pipe and saw a tall hairy unclothed figure standing nearby. The figure vocalized loudly after noticing the man, then walked quickly toward the woods. The son joined his father and both watched the first figure and a second slightly smaller one walk along the woods edge before disappearing into the trees.

A party out driving with horses through a hill pass had a lead horse become unmanageable and show terror as a wild cry came from the thicket, refusing to pass. Local farmers also reported livestock depredations and peculiar footprints in snow that searchers could not resolve. The newspaper presented the story without conclusion.

A surveying party traveling through the Rocky Mountains in winter came upon a large, well-defined track in shallow snow on ice. The track was measured at about fourteen inches long by eight inches wide with four toe marks and was seen extending about a hundred yards from north to south. The party chose not to follow it, with companions unwilling to pursue such a large animal with small guns, and the party leader recorded uncertainty whether it was an unusually large bear or something else.

Two trappers set up camp to trap beaver and found their camp demolished and human-like tracks around it. At night they heard rustling, smelled a foul stench, fired a shot and heard something flee.
