At age six the witness was outside with a relative in late summer 1976 in Canyon City and watched a hair-covered figure standing on a hill across the road backlit by the setting sun for about a minute. The figure then turned and walked away out of sight. The witness ran inside to tell family, and parents later found large footprints on the hill.

After two young companions reported seeing a large white-covered creature at the woods edge, the witness retrieved a spotlight and went with them toward the woods behind the apartments. From about fifty feet away the light revealed glowing red eyes and a large two-legged silhouette standing behind trees. The group fled to tell parents, who did not believe them.

The witness's grandfather was collecting ore samples at night when he heard heavy human-like footsteps moving around him in the snow. He then saw a large dark shape about 40 feet away. Frightened, he ran to his three-wheeler and fired a shot toward where the shape had been after it disappeared.

By morning two pet rabbits kept outside were gone, with no damage to the cage.

A teacher and companions are said to have encountered a tall creature on at least six occasions near an old bridge in Cooke County, Texas. The encounters occurred at night from a vehicle, with the figure seen as a tall silhouette in headlights and heard making threatening noises while moving through brush. On one occasion the creature was described as bouncing a limb, whose height was measured the next day, and daytime searches reportedly found bones in the creek. Shots were allegedly fired at the creature without apparent effect.

Five women staying overnight at a rural farmhouse heard loud piercing screams approaching from up a hill toward the house. A backlit tall, large-framed figure walking hunched over passed in front of the front picture windows and beat on the house, and a very hairy leg was seen when the front door was opened. The figure then went around the corner of the house and disappeared, leaving a burning skunk-like smell. Two men who had been away returned later and searched the large farm into the early morning without finding anything.

At night on a dark cloudy hilltop he stopped to wait and watched something come up to the road. It took two or three large upright steps across the road onto a cut bank and was gone. The witness, age 11 at the time, was in bed when a large shadow was cast on the bedroom wall from outside the window for about 20 to 30 seconds. A few minutes later the witness heard the back storage room door being ripped off and sounds of ransacking, including the freezer being opened and heavy objects moved. The next morning the storage room was found in disarray with the door off, faint scratches without tool marks, and frozen foods missing.

During the night the teenager saw a huge hair-covered figure crouched at an overturned trashcan scooping garbage, then stand upright and stare briefly. The figure stepped over the trashcan, sprang up an embankment, and disappeared into brush, leaving disturbed dew, strewn garbage, and broken brush.

They heard crashing in aspens across a ravine and saw a tall, long-haired figure standing on two legs about 300 feet away watching them for several minutes. The witness told no one at the time and searched for tracks the next morning without success.
