The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand off a power line in a state wildlife management area on a December afternoon. After hearing heavy breathing and movement, the witness observed a large black hairy human-like figure first on all fours then sitting and standing. The figure vocalized in gibberish-like speech, screamed, grunted, approached to about 30 yards and remained for an extended period before tearing vegetation and moving off. While the witness fled toward a truck, movement paralleled the witness in the woods while vocalizations continued behind, suggesting a second individual, and the witness fired a shot in the air before driving away.

The creature confronted him vocally, reacted aggressively when he reached for his shotgun, shook a small pine tree, then stared before walking away yelling, after which the witness fled to his vehicle.

The witness reported driving on a country road when a large creature crossed and stopped in front of the car. After the witness brightened the headlights, the creature approached, struck the car and leaned on the hood while screaming loudly. The witness reversed around it and drove away while still hearing it screaming in the distance.

It woke, stood, paced and vocalized, then bluff-charged to within a few yards before veering off and crashing through the thicket. The witness kept his rifle ready, backed out scratched by briars, and was followed by screaming until he reached his truck and drove home.
