The witness's brother was walking to his stand in the dark when something screamed at him, followed by deep grunting and growling felt in his chest. He waited in his stand on the phone with the witness until daylight, then heard something crash through the woods like a freight train moving away. He left immediately and later they found only a few broken branches.

After beaching, one threw rocks back, the creature screamed, stepped out, charged and struck one man hard enough to break ribs and puncture a lung, then threw a log that cut his chin. After motoring to an island to confront who they thought was a person, a very large black hairy biped stepped out, screamed, charged and struck one cousin, breaking ribs and puncturing a lung, then threw a log that cut his chin. The creature reappeared, swayed and made clicking mouth sounds, then leapt about twenty feet and ran away on all fours for several hundred yards in seconds.

An avid outdoorsman fishing at night with his wife heard screams from the back end of a lake in Jackson County. He abandoned tackle, rods, chairs, lanterns and a grill with catfish cooking, fled with his wife in the truck and never returned. He later moved counties away and cried recounting the event.

The witness and two companions were camping on a secluded river property in southern Ohio and hiked a steep hill to a rocky outcrop. A very loud scream likened to a banshee came from the campsite area, followed by intense coyote vocalizations and intermittent rustling as they hurried down. No person was found at the bottom, and years later they recognized a similar sound on a Bigfoot television show.

The witness's father stepped outside with a flashlight and the sound seemed to come from the woods and echo for miles. Next morning they found a nearby tree branch freshly stripped of bark.

The witness was camping with a friend and the friend's parent and walked to a pond after midnight. From woods across the water came a blood-curdling scream lasting seconds, then after silence a second scream that turned into a deep roar. No movement or footsteps were heard and they went back to bed.
