Two companions driving on a dirt road toward their house at night stopped when a large creature stood in the road a short distance ahead. With headlights and then high beams on, they watched it for a couple of minutes as it stood and moved its head from side to side. They then drove past it and rushed into the house to tell the occupants and check everyone was alright.

Both occupants agreed it was not a bear or monkey and described it as about four and a half to five feet tall, dark brown and ape-like.

Late at night while traveling by car toward Mexico Beach, Florida, the witness encountered an animal squatting at the edge of the pavement near County Road 386 and Highway 98. As the car approached, the animal jumped up and ran bipedally across the road in front of the car into woods on the other side. It was described as about five to six feet tall with long dark shaggy hair with red highlights, and its face was not recalled.

The witness was taking a morning walk on the paved road in front of the house when a creature covered in green vegetation crossed the road at a small bridge over a creek. The creature moved with an ape-like lope, looked toward the witness, then crawled down the bridge embankment into the shallow creek and disappeared. The witness ran to the creek but found no trace.

They searched nearby roads but did not see it again.

After an evening class, the witness drove along a dirt access road beside a marsh and stopped when a slim hair-covered creature stepped into the headlights and stood in the road about 40-50 feet away. The creature stared toward the car for several seconds, then walked calmly across the road into the marsh. The witness got out to look and listen but detected no odor or sound, and found no tracks the next morning.

The witness was camping with family and jogged alone to an observation tower in the evening. After resting on top, the witness climbed down, slipped and landed noisily in brush. The witness ran back to camp, where family dismissed the account.

Late at night in June, the witness was driving south on a dark two-lane highway through swampland with three children asleep in the back. She saw a large hair-covered figure come up from a roadside canal, stand on two legs and cross in front of her car. She slowed to almost a stop and watched it at very close range as it turned toward her before walking into the canal, then woke the children to tell them.

They pursued on foot hearing twig snaps and rustling of something large and seeing shifting eyeshine eight to ten feet up. Members then reported feeling ill, disoriented, and trance-like, with the last person feeling lured away from the group.
