They then heard loud roars ending in screams, heavy movement and thudding from across the river, had rocks thrown toward them, and heard splashing and grunting as they left. At the truck they found river mud spattered on the vehicle with a strong foul odor.

An older couple was awakened around 1 a.m. by a crash in the kitchen with broken glass and window. The homeowner went to the porch and a tall hairy figure swiped at him, barely missing. It stared while weaving side to side, then walked across the road into a ditch and woods. Responding officers found a softball-sized rock but no usable tracks on hard ground.
