The witness was sitting by a campfire at the cabin at night when the dogs ran to the yard's edge barking and growling. A loud repetitive 'scree' call was heard from just beyond the light for several minutes, continuing after the dogs were put inside. The witness also reported a recurring rotten smell and heard unseen movement in the trees before the sounds and smell stopped.

A hunter encountered a large fur-covered creature crouched on all fours examining tracks in light snow at the edge of a cedar swamp. The creature stood and looked at her from about 20 yards away, frightening her, and she fled to her stand and called a family member. The family member arrived later and found tracks, broken branches and a bad smell, with a feeling of being watched.

While walking a ridge the witness noticed bent saplings and knocked on a tree, receiving clear wood-knock replies from a steep kettle below. A large living oak branch was then twisted toward the witness and ripped off, falling to the kettle bottom. Returning later with two companions, they found fresh twist damage and hand-like bark rubs with strong odor, then a young companion saw a light-colored bipedal figure and all heard a deep growl.

In August 2010 the witness was home around 2 a.m. and smelled a very strong body odor. The witness's two dogs had refused to go outside earlier and stared at the window without barking. The witness got up to close the windows and reports never smelling anything like that before.

In July 2006 the witness was biking through a swampy, wooded area toward a friend's house in the late afternoon. Near a knoll the witness heard sticks breaking and footsteps, then saw a tall dark figure to the side and heard a frightening vocalization. The witness screamed and pedaled away fast while continuing to hear breaking sticks, and the creature reportedly fled bipedally in the opposite direction during about ten seconds of observation.

The witness was driving home south of Peshtigo at dusk when headlights caught a large dark creature crossing the highway in front of the car. The witness slowed and watched it cross the southbound lanes, median, and northbound lanes into the woods over several seconds. The witness also noticed a strong skunk-like odor, then secured the car and left the area.

While deer hunting the witness followed buck tracks down to a dense, mossy creek bottom. There he reported an intense putrid odor, a feeling of being watched and hunted, and profound fear despite hearing nothing and seeing nothing. He left quickly with weapons ready and ended hunting for the day.

The witness and his father were walking to their deer stands before sunrise when they heard something moving parallel to them and smelled a musky odor. Something ahead screamed and howled, and a flashlight revealed eye reflections several feet off the ground. In summer 1984 the witness was watching television at home late in the evening with a window open when grunting sounds approached the house. The witness looked and saw a large dark upright figure pass by while neighborhood dogs became agitated and a foul skunk-like odor was present. The witness judged the figure too large to be a man and moving unlike a bear.

The witness was fishing from a small boat close to shore in the evening when they heard splashing and noticed a strong odor. A tall, hairy, human-like figure stood up nearby in shallow water and stared at them for several seconds.
