Wood knock in Mississippi (2023)
While bow hunting on private family land, the guest heard repeated loud wood knocks all afternoon. Walking out after dark he heard a loud guttural growl, movement in brush, rapid chatter-like vocalizations, a human-like whistle on one side and a low hoof-like reply on the other. He walked quickly to meet his friend and left equipment to retrieve by truck.

The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand off a power line in a state wildlife management area on a December afternoon. After hearing heavy breathing and movement, the witness observed a large black hairy human-like figure first on all fours then sitting and standing. The figure vocalized in gibberish-like speech, screamed, grunted, approached to about 30 yards and remained for an extended period before tearing vegetation and moving off. While the witness fled toward a truck, movement paralleled the witness in the woods while vocalizations continued behind, suggesting a second individual, and the witness fired a shot in the air before driving away.

The witness was deer hunting near a ditch when a buck stopped and stared toward a field. The witness looked and saw a tall bipedal creature crossing the field into a thicket. The witness later measured a branch the creature passed and estimated its height near seven feet six inches.
Movement only in Mississippi (2005)
The witness got lost after dark on a misty rainy night in February while hunting in the bottoms and tried to follow a creek out. He shined a light and sensed bodies on both sides of the creek bed, followed by sudden commotion of leaves, heavy movement and breathy grunting. The sounds moved behind him about thirty feet and then stopped abruptly without fading into the distance, which he later interpreted as the same group of creatures.

He walked into commotion on both sides with heavy movement and breathy grunting that shifted behind him and stopped. He first told it as hogs but later believed it was a family group near his later sighting location.

Two witnesses taking a dog for exercise at the end of a swamp road noticed a large dark hairy torso-like shape beside a tree about 50-75 feet away and watched it shift for a few minutes. After driving to two other spots up the road, they heard footsteps approaching and then something running toward them through the woods, which frightened the dog. They left the area and returned later that afternoon, but the shape was gone.

Three children were catching lightning bugs in a pasture at dusk while their grandfather called them from the porch. The grandfather saw an upright figure on a fence line drop to all fours and lope toward the children. He ran shouting, the children froze or fled, and the creature stopped, stood erect, then walked away into cedar trees while watching them.
