The witness and three companions were staying at a rented cabin in remote mountains. In the early morning after two of them got up unable to sleep, they heard grunting nearby followed by a very loud scream and sounds of something running through the woods breaking branches. They then heard whooping sounds off and on for about two hours and reported that the whoops answered when they imitated them. They also reported a foul garbage-like odor.

The witness heard crashing movement, branches breaking, rocks banged together, and a large object thrown through the woods landing nearby. Birds, an owl, and distant dogs vocalized during the sequence, which ended with a long wail, after which the woods went quiet. The pair left the area the next morning.

A single upright animal reportedly emerged from brush about 50 feet away and traveled about 150 feet along a brushy river embankment before going back down toward the river, making crashing noise in vegetation. While approaching, something large moved alongside through the woods breaking branches, and the witness found large footprints including a tiny print in one heel. The witness then heard a large splash in the creek followed by paired guttural growls that stopped after the witness whooped, and later described seeing a large hairy figure peeking from behind a tree across the creek.

After a child's whoops received an immediate whoop reply nearby, two adults who stayed behind briefly heard something approach closely then step away, seeing nothing with lights. The witness was camped with two children on a ridgeline near Tarryall Reservoir. On two consecutive nights the witness heard loud deep whooping calls, first from the valley below and then much closer to camp, with wood-on-wood-like banging the first night and coyotes falling silent. On the second night the witness left the tent with a rifle and light and heard something large and heavy crashing through timber with loud footsteps, then stood guard until morning and left early without telling the children.

Two companions stopped while on a fishing outing to inspect a river area. They heard large animals moving on both sides of the road and believed they had interrupted two animals crossing. One animal then charged through brush, knocked vegetation down, and a tree was heard being ripped down, followed by silence and faint hiding sounds. Neither witness obtained a visual, and they left without crossing the river to investigate.

The witness went outside in the afternoon to retrieve plant pots from the side of the house while a neighboring dog barked. The day after Thanksgiving in 2014 the witness walked with family and a friend to and from a quarry in the dark. Footsteps on one side paced them, stopping when they stopped and starting when they started, maintaining distance over about a quarter to half mile. They shone flashlights behind them and saw nothing, and the follower did not pass a certain point on the return.

After hearing heavy metal banging for several nights, the witness ran armed from his fifth-wheel to a 30x40 foot excavation pit. He confronted two 8-9 foot hair-covered beings on the far side and a 4-foot juvenile trapped in the 12-foot hole, while a 10-11 foot individual flanked near his truck. After a scream-roar and standoff where he lowered his aim off the juvenile, the adults retrieved the juvenile and withdrew silently to the treeline. He packed up, later had researchers trespass after his cousin told them, filled the hole, and sold the property.

The witness and his uncle were coyote hunting from a truck when they saw a large orange ball of light maneuvering in the sky and heard a loud electric-motor hum. A deer stumbled from the woods and collapsed then recovered, multiple jets converged on the light, all sound stopped, flashes appeared and the light vanished. They then heard loud tree snapping approaching the tree line and fled, later seeing a fast blue streak of light while driving away.

The witness hunted deer from a stand behind the house and exchanged knocks with something in the woods for three days. On the fourth evening after sundown the witness saw a large dark-furred figure at about thirty yards that looked at him with apparent surprise. It walked away down the exit trail, and the witness briefly pursued it, then heard branches breaking as it circled while he backed out of the woods shouting.

A couple camping on the Mogollon Rim reported being awakened in the early morning by very loud, long screams echoing in a nearby canyon. Both spouses listened for several minutes before briefly leaving the tent and returning to sleep. The next morning the husband walked toward the sound and reported finding a large teepee-like structure of heavy cut poles with no stumps nearby. On the second night no screams were heard, but the wife reported hearing large movement in the woods while the dogs remained uneasy.
