The witness was standing in the yard at night when a hooting howl was heard from the treeline. Dogs ran toward the woods barking as brush and limbs thrashed along the edge and heavy thumping footsteps were heard. The witness followed the sounds along the treeline with a rifle before returning to the house and confirming a relative next door had not left home. The witness interpreted the sounds and movement as a sasquatch disturbed in the woods.
Memory of possible vocalizations and rock throwing southwest of Atwood
The witness, then a child, was walking through woods and field toward ponds to feed fish when a loud high-pitched scream came from the woods and trees shook in a visible path without wind. After waiting, the witness continued to the pond embankment where a boulder-sized rock landed nearby from higher ground. Two sisters were present for the rock incident, and the witness reported repeated rock-throwing at that embankment and occasional feelings of being watched.

The witness and a relative were walking in a meadow below ranch buildings around dusk when they heard a prolonged loud screaming vocalization from nearby trees and heard movement circling the meadow. They retreated to ranch buildings and continued hearing vocalizations around the ranch overnight. The next day they found no tracks on frozen ground but found a large handprint with long fingers on a food storeroom door.

Four people in a house heard very loud deep shrieks from beyond the backyard tree line at night. Two of them went onto the patio with a rifle and flashlight; when the light was pointed at the treeline the shrieks stopped and something was heard moving away through the woods while grunting deeply. The next day the witness followed a wide trail of fresh tree damage through the woods for about two hours.
Loud vocalizations sounds heard
Two companions watching lightning during a storm reportedly heard loud pig-like grunts and screams and noisy movement in dense brush. They also reported seeing red reflected eyes spaced a few inches apart. The animal was described as large, but its size could not be judged because of a steep slope, and no tracks or hair were found afterward.

The witness and a companion were camped in a remote glen for a weekend trip. Around 2:30 a.m. the witness woke to camp disturbance and a deer, then sensed a large presence watching the tent from nearby pines, hearing breathing and later branches moving. Next morning the witness and companion found a single large human-like footprint near the pines, which the companion then smudged.

Two relatives were at a tree house in the evening when one noticed squawking birds, a shaking tree, and a long tail. After regrouping in the tree house, they fled toward a vehicle when a creature reportedly jumped from the tree and ran toward them. They reached the house highly frightened and later refused to return alone.
Movement only near Hendersonville, North Carolina (1999)
On a snowy night a friend took a wrong trail, stalled a four-wheeler, and started walking out. Something large moving in the brush without vocalizing blocked going down and flanked the friend, pushing up and to the right. The friend reached a cabin with people and a telephone at the top and called for pickup.
Rocks thrown at two hikers on Heather Lake Trail
Around 2001 the witness and a companion hiked Heather Lake Trail in the late afternoon as the last hikers on the trail. While taking turns stepping away to urinate near the top, each had a rock thrown at them from an unseen source. As they hurried and then ran back down, they heard heavy stomping and breaking branches moving parallel to them, and another rock was thrown after they briefly hid behind a tree, prompting them to flee to their car frightened.
Wood knock near Nacogdoches, Texas (1998)
The witness, then 15, was hunting with his father on remote public land in East Texas. On the final evening he heard a loud knock then prolonged screaming directed at him and footsteps circling behind him. A creature stuck its head through brush 20 yards away and stared at him until his father's vehicle approached, when it ran off screaming. He fled, was physically ill for days, and avoided deep woods afterward.

While bird hunting with a relative, the witness heard a rustle and then saw a dark brown upright figure about 7 feet tall moving very quickly and silently through ferns and deadfall for about three seconds. The witness first considered a leaping deer as an explanation but later concluded it was not a deer, bear, or human trespasser. The relative heard the initial sound but did not see the figure and reacted with fear after seeing the witness's reaction.

The witness and a companion were riding a four-wheeler through a swampy forest off abandoned tracks at dusk. The witness first noticed a black flash in the woods, then heard whistling and rustling behind them while riding slowly. Looking back, the witness perceived a large black bulk pursuing them and saw two yellow glowing eyes. The companion reportedly saw nothing, and the witness did not mention it at the time to avoid alarming the companion.
Footsteps near Nowata, Oklahoma (1998)
The two hunters arrived late and set up camp and a tree stand in darkness in a hollow bottom. One hunter returned alone to retrieve a phone and heard pacing footsteps, a very loud voice repeating a name, and a laugh, then saw a huge dark shape in tall weeds and fired twice before fleeing. Both hunters were then circled for hours by fast-moving unseen things that stayed out of flashlight range, threw out a poisoned hot dog that was quickly taken by something running on two legs that coughed like a person, and found the heavy welded stand ripped from the tree in the morning.

After the shots both hunters stayed by the fire and heard several things circling the camp for an hour or two, staying outside flashlight range. The witness threw a hot dog soaked in antifreeze into the woods, something moved quickly on two legs to grab it, then coughed and hacked deeply while moving away. The circling stopped and the coughing presence slowly retreated until near sunrise.
Footsteps in Oklahoma (1998)
Late at night the two hunters walked through a dark hollow to install a heavy metal tree stand. The witness felt stalked and heard something pacing him very close on two legs. While installing the stand he fell from the tree, kept hearing movement in nearby brush, and both hunters became disoriented about the direction back to camp.
Woman describes possible encounter while elk hunting near Pilot Rock
The witness and a relative were waiting in dense brush while bugling for elk when they heard approaching knocking, rustling and vocal sounds and noticed a strong unpleasant odor. They left the hiding spot as crashing sounds followed them uphill. Other members of the hunting party later said they had seen a figure walking on the hill where the pair had not been. The group later returned to the site and found unusual scat.
Afternoon sighting by mother and daughter in Honey Island Swamp
Two witnesses taking a dog for exercise at the end of a swamp road noticed a large dark hairy torso-like shape beside a tree about 50-75 feet away and watched it shift for a few minutes. After driving to two other spots up the road, they heard footsteps approaching and then something running toward them through the woods, which frightened the dog. They left the area and returned later that afternoon, but the shape was gone.
Hunter hears odd clicking noises while scouting
The witness hiked to a deer stand while hearing repeated groups of clicking sounds for about 45 minutes but could not locate the source on the ridge. While walking back out of the woods, the witness heard something large approach and stop behind them. The unseen source then made a very loud close grunt and, after the witness chambered a round, a loud guttural scream/grunt. The witness never saw the source.
Memory told of finding possible fresh tracks and pebbles thrown while hiking near Jasper
The witness and spouse were hiking uphill in heavy snow when they found about a dozen very fresh, large barefoot-like tracks crossing the slope. As they examined the tracks, nearby foliage shook as if an animal was present, and they felt sudden fear and decided to leave. While descending about 300 yards, small pebbles were repeatedly tossed at them from behind, striking the witness in the back without injury until they began to run.

The witness reported walking at night from a campsite toward a bridge along a sandy creek bottom. They found large footprints in the sand and became aware of something large moving through brush with sounds. They also noticed an unusual odor in the area where the sounds occurred.
