Immediately after, a loud roar and crashing moved up and down the adjacent woods. The group extinguished the fire and ran inside; town friends called it a cow, which the witness rejects.

As a teenager the witness hunted squirrels near a pine barren when woods went silent and he felt watched. He heard a loud thump and movement paralleling him to the yard. After firing leftover rounds, something crashed up and down inside the treeline without crossing, barked at by dogs, and was heard by parents, but never seen.
