On August 1, 1990, a woman at a mobile home near Eldon, Oklahoma reported hearing noises and smelling a bad odor before seeing a very tall, heavy creature. A deputy later found large impressions at the scene. Two days later, two other residents reported a similar upright animal at a trash pile nearby.

While hunting over multiple seasons, one hunter repeatedly saw large round dark shapes partly obscured by trees that he first took for deer rumps. The shapes never offered a full shot and sometimes appeared as several at once, with slight movement. He later concluded they were peeking creatures rather than deer.
