A family camped at Salmon Meadows near Conconully heard repeated strange howl-like yells from the creek bed below their site in the late afternoon. After going to investigate and finding a young cow near a cattle guard, they heard howls again overnight and in the early morning. They recorded five video clips as the sounds moved away but never saw the source.

On the morning of 2 Nov 2010 the witness, a companion, and an investigator were in heavily wooded preserve land by a cemetery looking at tree structures when sirens sounded. The same sequence repeated a couple minutes later. They did not see what made the sounds and left within minutes.

On his last night of work in 2010, the guest parked at his rented room on his boss's wooded property around 1 a.m. Birds erupted, then a loud rising howl-scream vibrated his car and silenced frogs and birds. Possible howl heard by three family members while on vacation at June Lake
The witness and family were staying in a cabin backing to forest and granite cliffs near June Lake. Late at night they went onto the deck and heard a distant loud, deep howl lasting under a minute. About 10-15 minutes later, while the witness was showering, the rest of the family heard the same type of sound three more times from inside the cabin with windows open. The witness, familiar with local wildlife sounds, felt the vocalization was louder and deeper than any known animal.
