Three young men walked a trail at night in a conservation area to look for a pond. Rocks were thrown toward two of them from the woods, strange pacing, a low growl, and rhythmic booming sounds followed them. They found fresh green trees snapped and laid across the trail blocking the path, then were hurried out by more rock throws and close movement before the woods went quiet and normal night sounds returned near the car.

A couple camping alone heard a tree fall, paired tree knocks, grunts, and a growl during the day and evening. After midnight, heavy human-like footsteps circled their tent and campfire, left, returned, then moved off as vehicle lights were flashed. The witness was staying at his uncle's cattle farm to shoot a suspected coyote stealing chickens. From a barn loft at night he watched a tall bipedal creature emerge from the tree line and move very quickly toward the coops. After he shouted, it growled, screamed and charged the barn, shaking it, while he fired dozens of rounds down at it before it fled to the woods. No blood was found, only partial tracks, and a conservation officer told them to keep quiet.

The witness was lying in bed in an off-grid camper when surrounding animal sounds went silent. Over about an hour the witness heard a single knock, shed creaking as if pushed, rustling and footsteps on gravel, a possible growl and chewing, and a single whoop with no reply. The next day the witness found a large footprint in the gravel near where the sounds originated and photographed it with a tape measure.

Around 2 a.m. he was awakened by extremely loud gorilla-like bellows, howls, and a snarling growl that seemed to vibrate through his body. He heard something moving and circling the blind in the leaves. After it moved off toward the river and vocalized again at a distance, he remained in the blind until daylight.

Three relatives on a bow-hunting trip were sitting around a campfire at night when they heard whoops, howls, growls and footsteps and saw vegetation shake. After retreating to their camper and later going back outside, the companions pointed out movement by a white oak. The narrator then saw a massive standing creature with its arm against the tree, estimated the next morning at about 7 feet 5 inches.

The figure left quickly while splashing through water, as a nearby cat reacted with alarm and neighboring dogs barked and fled. They went inside and later recounted the events to family and an investigator.

The witness was walking along a roadside in Columbia, Missouri around 1:30 a.m. when a large bipedal creature paralleled him from behind a tree line. He stopped to face it and described a tall dark-haired figure with a cone-shaped head that emitted a low growl. After he looked away and kept walking, the creature followed briefly then disappeared.

The couple were night fishing from boat docks around midnight when rocks began splashing into the water on both sides of the cove. Two unseen sources on opposite banks threw large rocks and produced deep growls, screams, and howls in unison for an extended period while the couple remained on the dock. They eventually left the dock for their cabin and continued to hear the sounds from the overlook.

The witness and his brother were camping overnight near a river when they heard a loud growl-scream-whistle sound from about 30 feet away in the woods. They quickly lit a campfire and remained at the site for four nights total. They later asked rangers about the sound and checked local animal sounds at home without finding a match.

The witness and a companion drove to a hilltop late at night to watch a meteor shower. Large footprints and teeth marks were found the following morning.

The witness and two companions snuck out on a 4-wheeler into woods behind a house on a snowy night. They noticed a dead-like odor and heard monkey-like chattering, then saw a tall hair-covered biped walk toward them while growling. The group fled on the vehicle and on foot as the animal followed to within arm's reach without touching them, apparently driving them from the area.

The witness was sleeping in a tent with a cousin at a scout camp when waking late at night to sounds at the central table. From the tent flap the witness watched a tall broad ape-like creature pry open the troop food box and eat bread and donuts. After another boy shouted bear, the creature stood upright, tore down the tarp, vocalized, then walked quickly between the tents into the woods.

While hunting from a tree stand shortly after sunrise, the witness saw a frightened deer run by followed by two upright hairy figures. One figure came within about 15-20 feet, stared face-to-face at eye level for 10-15 seconds and emitted a deep growl before leaving. The witness fled toward a nearby farmhouse, fired a rifle shot overhead and shouted, while movement and noise paralleled him in the woods.

He looked out the bedroom window in bright moonlight and saw a hair-covered creature with a humanlike face about 12 feet away that turned to stare toward him.
