As they retreated toward the car, the guest saw a tall, dark-haired, muscular figure watching them from the treeline before it screamed and left. Both men fled in the car and the friend later cut off contact.

They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

A family of three walking with their dog on a de-activated service road stopped briefly when they heard a deep growl and noticed a strong musky odor. The husband saw a large black bipedal figure running through the bushes parallel to the road about 80 yards away. The group went a short distance farther, smelled the odor again, then turned back after the son refused to continue and the dog yelped and ran back to them.

The witness heard footsteps moving through thick brush behind the thicket, called out, and felt watched as the steps paused then resumed more slowly. An unseen source then produced a very loud deep growl rising toward a roar, prompting the witness to flee with the child.

The witness and a companion canoed to a remote shore of a lake for lunch when they heard growling and smelled a foul odor. They pushed through brush and saw a huge dark-furred biped about 20 feet away apparently feeding on a small animal. The creature stood to about 7-8 feet, looked at them, then grabbed its meal and ran off while the pair retreated to their canoes.

Three companions walking back from swimming along a forestry road felt watched and heard snapping branches and rustling paralleling their movement. When they shouted and threw rocks toward the roadside bushes, rocks were thrown back at them while growling sounds were heard and the accompanying dog barked. Frightened, they ran to a nearby activity centre and later told a parent, who suggested a bear.
