The witness and a companion camped beside a river and heard loud yelling that dropped into a groan or growl, followed hours later by closer calls, heavy footfalls, rustling on a hillside, and a large splash in the river. They could see nothing by flashlight from their vehicle. Shortly after, occupants of a passing car stopped and said a massive hairy figure had just run across the road in front of them.

Early in the morning the witness stepped onto a second-story apartment balcony and turned on the light. She immediately heard a loud primate-like scream followed by woo-woo calls, which set a neighbor's dog barking. After several minutes she noticed a tree rustling, heard low grunts and footsteps along a privacy fence, and watched a very wide, hunched, ape-like shadow lumber along the fence line before two figures reportedly moved off together into the dark.

While walking a ridge the witness noticed bent saplings and knocked on a tree, receiving clear wood-knock replies from a steep kettle below. A large living oak branch was then twisted toward the witness and ripped off, falling to the kettle bottom. Returning later with two companions, they found fresh twist damage and hand-like bark rubs with strong odor, then a young companion saw a light-colored bipedal figure and all heard a deep growl.

A couple at their rural wooded home heard loud long guttural man-like yells almost nightly for several weeks in March 2012, usually around dusk. They stopped and watched a very tall, light-colored illuminated figure moving in a small circle near a mailbox, heard a short powerful grunt, and then saw reddish eyes watching from the woods. The eyes retreated deeper, dropped low and disappeared while the group returned to the cottage.

The witness was driving home at night on a dirt backroad when something struck the truck, leaving scratches and a dent on the passenger door. After calling for help, the witness with two relatives found footprints along the road and photographed them. While photographing they saw green eye-shine above the brush and a large upright shadowy outline, then heard wood knocks, growling and heavy footsteps before the eyes disappeared.

The witness was walking in woods near home and sat on a fallen tree when a strange grunting sound was heard to the left. The witness was frightened and called for a parent to come meet in the woods. No creature was seen.

Two sisters were playing at night on their wooded family property when they heard gravel crunching footsteps and heavy grunting breathing. A huge hairy biped walked parallel to them, turned its head toward them after one yelped, and they fled inside. Family members first suggested a bear or person, but the sisters maintained it was far larger.

A lone member sat in a daytime observation post in Area X and heard mouth-pop sounds from multiple points. He imitated the sounds and received a menacing growl, then the animal bluff-charged him. He saw it only briefly, fired a warning shot, and it stopped and retreated.

After an evening campfire, after his family went inside, the witness stepped to the woods edge near the pond. Something in the pond area directed four or five deep guttural growls at him. He went back inside.

The witness had moved a stand across the ditch and watched an exhausted doe run to the stand and lie down. A very large male bipedal creature followed the doe trail, stopped when it winded the witness, stared through the scope, snarled and then left. The witness heard a second low growl and crashing from a nearby thicket as it left.

The witness was alone on mountain hunting land in the evening setting up a feeder. From across the road he heard strange howl and growl sounds and shouted back, prompting more aggressive responses. The vocal exchange lasted about 20 minutes, during which a large rock was thrown from brush onto the road. He never saw the source and said it was not a bear or deer.

The witness claims that while hunting alone from a climber in a tree near a swamp, he heard heavy steps approaching followed by two loud claps like trees being struck together. Minutes later he heard an extremely loud, deep growl from behind him that repeated after the animal stepped closer. He reports being terrified and describes the animal as foul-smelling and territorial.

The witness was walking his two dogs behind his house in the early evening when the dogs froze staring at the woods and then fled inside. The witness then watched what he first thought was a 3- to 4-foot stump stand up into a 7- to 8-foot hair-covered biped. The creature grunted, walked deeper into the woods with heavy steps in a zig-zag path, glanced back with a growl, and disappeared near a gas-line dirt road, leaving a wet-dog and pine-sap odor.
