At age 15 the guest was fishing alone at a creek near his father's house when he heard whoops and saw a large hairy figure behind a sycamore. He confronted it with a .22 rifle, and after it growled and roared he shot it in the throat, then in the hand, then multiple times in the chest as it screamed, broke saplings, and ran straight through a barbed-wire fence across a hay meadow. Later that day his father found broken trees, blood and hair on the sycamore, and blood and hair on the broken fence wires.

The witness and a cousin were catching fireflies near the tree line by a family cabin after others went inside. They heard a loud snarl and saw a tall upright silhouette leaning against a tree. Both fled to the cabin, and the witness never discussed it with the cousin afterward.

Specific daytime incidents include cutting the grow when the large male growled and pushed trees down, and a May triple charge stopped when he chambered his pistol while watering plants.

In the night the witness heard steps and a loud growl beside the tent and saw a large dark shadow in moonlight. The creature stood about seven to eight feet tall and ran on two legs before being shot multiple times and falling near a creek. They later tracked blood and footprints to a plum thicket where the witness shot a six-foot hair-covered female at close range and found a larger dead male behind her.

The guest and his wife were sitting in a borrowed van in the driveway late at night when the wife saw someone run past and a loud whoop and growling started beside the van. The creature shook the van and was lit by brake lights, then the father fired a shotgun from the porch and it leapt across the driveway into the woods. Later that night rocks were thrown at the trailer damaging a fan and siding, and next morning bent van metal, foot impressions, feathers and a missing chicken were found.

A high-school senior walking to the bus smelled rotten eggs and saw a dog-muzzled creature with pointed ears and backward-bent legs stop in the driveway. It snarled when she gasped and sprang into the trees. Weeks later cats vanished and something struck the house, with eyes seen over a tall stump.

The witness and friends camped at a favorite ridge site between two ponds and were awakened by loud splashes. Later something circled the tent sniffing closely and gave a deep snarl near the witness's head. Both tent occupants stayed frozen until it left, found no tracks in the morning, and never returned.
Paranormal encounter in Texas
While trying to ignore tormenting activity, the witness turned around to find a gigantic floating gorilla head about ten feet away with its mouth open growling. There was no body, only the head. He fled to the house and stayed away for days.

The host retold a report from Alaska in which a young boy hunting with a small rifle encountered three creatures. After eye contact and growling surrounded him, the boy put his head down crying, the creatures huffed and left, leaving a wild gamey odor.

From a morning tree stand, the witness heard slow methodical crunching steps approaching through a cedar thicket. When the witness called out, something answered with a deep guttural growl-huff. The witness froze, then heard it leave and fired a shot to alert the father.

The witness and his cousin hiked the Birch Knob trail to an overlook, heard a wood knock behind them, then after dark heard a huge thump to the left and a very deep gargling growl to the right. They left and heard twigs breaking above them all the way to the car.
Growl in Virginia
The family dog was terrified the first night by a deep growl and later refused to go behind the house. With his cousin near the pond the witness felt dread and found scattered deer ribs, legs, skull and later skin with other bones gone. On another morning he heard a deer screaming, found drag marks, blood on a fallen tree and a dead deer with head bent back, while his white shepherd had no blood on it.
