Large prints found in mud and then vocalizations heard south of Yakama Reservation
The witness drove to rented pasture to check fences where cattle had been getting out. He found a large tree knocked through the fence with strange hair on the wire, moved the tree and repaired the fence, then found very large fresh footprints in mud near a creek. He heard a grunt near the repair site and later a high-pitched scream from the same direction, found items tossed from his truck bed, then left and did not return.

The witness had moved to a remote rural property to help a relative with horses. After months of unease, inner voices warning away from the stable, horses acting strangely, and a sense of being watched while watching television, the witness awoke at night to shaking, heavy breathing and snoring mimicry outside. Looking from an upstairs window the witness saw a very tall hairy apelike form peering into a lower window that turned, vocalized, and frightened the witness into a corner until daylight, after which the witness left the property within days.
Campers hear multiple vocalizations at Loup Loup Campground
A couple camping at a campground in the north-central Washington Cascades heard loud, powerful calls beginning shortly before dusk and continuing through the night. The sounds were described as unfamiliar, alternating between deep guttural tones and high-pitched tones, and seeming to come from two sources that moved toward each other along a creek drainage. The witnesses spent the night in their car and left at dawn without searching the brush for tracks.
Hiker hears roar north of Alpental Ski Resort at Snow Lake
The witness was camping overnight at an alpine lake with a dog when a loud high-pitched scream shifting to a low roar was heard for a couple minutes very close to camp. The dog became agitated with raised hackles and the witness was frightened. A young couple camped a few hundred yards away heard the same sound outside their site with snapping branches and pacing, and both parties left the lake the next morning.
Sounds heard like growling
As an eight-year-old, the witness became separated from friends while playing in the woods and walked alone down a trail. The witness smelled an indescribable odor and heard growling from thick bushes to the left, then heard a surrounding scream and ran out of the woods without looking back. Years later the witness felt the earlier growl matched a supposed Bigfoot vocalization heard in a TV documentary, but remained unsure what was encountered.

Two people walking at night along a highway with heavy packs heard an extremely loud, unfamiliar growl from nearby marshland. They reported intense fear with physical reactions and freezing briefly before running a long distance down the road. No visual contact with the source was reported.

The witness, then a child, walked with his older sister through woods on family land to look at cabin construction. About eight feet away a dark hairy female creature growled, was squatted down, then stood up to about eight feet tall. The sister grabbed the witness and they ran back to the family house.
Vocalizations heard by hikers
In summer around 1970, the witness and a friend were walking on an old dirt road through dense forest. About 50 feet ahead they heard a loud growling and screaming sound, saw trees shaking with sunlight breaking through the canopy, and felt the ground shake. They ran about half a mile out of the woods and the witness reported it to family that evening.
Possible encounter with soldier training training in the Olympic National Forest
The witness was taking part in a nighttime military training exercise in a forested area in 1966 and was returning alone to the company area around 3-4 a.m. He noticed the outline of a large upright figure coming down a steep sandy hill toward a logging road while hearing footsteps and shifting dirt. When he challenged the figure, it responded with a loud growl, and he ran to the campfire without hearing pursuit. He initially told others the pursuer was a bear but later concluded it had walked on two legs and was a bigfoot.

At a Puyallup house backed by woods the guest's son was growled at, garden ornaments were taken and replaced with rocks, and wood was thrown against the house. The guest saw a tall black individual walking from her window that seemed to vanish, saw it solid twice more, and walked close to another individual holding its arms across limbs to mimic a tree before backing away.

Two men and a child explored a higher logging road at night, heard a loud knock from dense woods and answered with knocks, then heard deep growls felt as vibration, additional knocks from different directions, a thrown rock clinking off equipment, and footsteps following as they slowly drove away.

A few years earlier, four people arrived at a remote site after dark to set up tents when they heard a loud roaring growl that vibrated in the chest, followed seconds later by a high-pitched answer from behind. They abandoned setting up camp, slept in their van, and left at sunrise without staying the planned weekend.

While on a one-day hunting trip, the witness dropped his brother off and stopped to glass a clearcut below old-growth timber about 200 yards away. Through his scope he watched a large dark hairy person-like figure turning its head and looking around. It then grabbed a branch, gave a long woman-like scream ending in a low growl, causing two orange-clad hunters on the far side to stop and leave.

A late-season hunter camping alone on a ridge was pinned down when something jumped onto his tent in the middle of the night. The weight broke two ribs against the gun he held on his chest. The thing growled, smelled foul, and held him like a wrestler rather than clawing.

The witness was fishing alone early in the morning at a remote mountain lake. Large rocks were thrown toward the witness from the treeline and growls similar to the earlier lake incident were heard for 10-15 minutes. Perceiving it as a warning to leave, the witness packed up and left and has not returned alone.

The film crew parked an RV at the mountain encounter area during rainy weather and sent one member up the hill. Later they recorded tapping sounds on the vehicle, saw a possible light on night vision, and heard distant vocalizations. Around early morning two members heard a deep growl very close to the vehicle and retreated inside.
