During winter coyote hunting from the same leased camper, the witness placed a call in the field and later went to bed in the rear bunk. Around 5:23 a.m. he heard crunching footsteps approach in snow and light tapping on the window by his head, then footsteps receding. In the morning no other footprints were found besides his own, and relatives said they had not walked there.

The witness camped alone for several nights using a thermal imager. On the fourth night an object was thrown near the tent, then a heat signature was seen peeking over brush along a trail. In July 2006 the witness was biking through a swampy, wooded area toward a friend's house in the late afternoon. Near a knoll the witness heard sticks breaking and footsteps, then saw a tall dark figure to the side and heard a frightening vocalization. The witness screamed and pedaled away fast while continuing to hear breaking sticks, and the creature reportedly fled bipedally in the opposite direction during about ten seconds of observation.

The witness was walking back from the mailbox in the afternoon when she heard deep man-like grunts and thumping from a brush thicket beside the driveway. She saw part of a large reddish-brown fur-covered animal, hunched over and rubbing or pounding its head or shoulders on trees. When she moved to get a better view, the animal ran toward her growling with heavy footfalls, and she fled to the house as it hit downed trees and stopped at the brush edge.

Hearing loud bipedal movement approaching inside the treeline, the witness called out thinking it was the companion. A loud guttural growl answered from close range, and the walker continued loudly parallel to the field without stopping.

At age 12 the guest and her older cousin went into thick woods near the family lake cabin to pick raspberries and became lost after filling buckets. While arguing about the way out, the guest saw a tall, lean, hairy man-like figure at very close range that studied her, moved its mouth, and held its hands out before looking toward the cousin. The figure then disappeared quickly, and the two children dumped their berries and ran out via a logging road to the grandmother's house, keeping the incident secret for years.

While driving slowly through woods to shine deer fields with friends, the witness noticed orange-red eyes following the truck and made out a tall body shape. When the spotlight was on it froze, but when off it approached and could be heard walking. Deer in the field stared toward the woods and throwing sounds were heard before the group left.

He shone a flashlight, saw disturbed water with bubbles, and the swimmer never surfaced while he watched.
