Scream near Moab, Utah (2022)
The witness and a companion hiked several miles into the La Sal Mountains to camp and hunt deer. During daytime glassing a large aspen snapped and fell near them on a calm day. That night around 2 a.m. a loud multi-pitched scream sounded from a hillside for about two hours while something circled their tent close enough to hear breathing. They found no tracks in the morning and later moved camp.

While lying silent, the witness heard very loud heavy footsteps stopping beside the bedroom window followed by deep huffing and grunting with massive air intake. The presence moved behind the trailer and shook a protective window panel as if trying to open it. At daylight the witness fled with cat and rifle without looking up, while the landlord revved a motorcycle and checked behind the trailer.
Unidentified sound in Utah (2022)
The witness woke in the middle of the night to a loud bang against the trailer and later heard slow rhythmic footsteps and additional bangs until sunrise. Camera clips recorded the impact sounds. The next day the witness found fresh damage, a large muddy handprint on the awning arm, and a deep heel print that split the doormat.

The witness was camping with his wife and four children at a primitive site off a forest road. Over several days and nights they repeatedly heard loud hollow bonking sounds from different directions. One morning the witness saw a large gray hair-covered figure partially obscured by foliage across the road, which flexed visibly muscular tissue and then left silently with smooth fluid motion. He searched the area on foot and by sitting in concealment that evening, noticed unusual wildlife silence and a sense of being watched, and heard a final knock above the tent that night.

The witness was alone stalking grouse with a slingshot about two miles from a family camp. He heard bipedal footsteps and saw a large all-brown figure walking 100 yards away. After he made a family hoot call, the figure hid motionless behind a narrow tree for 30-45 minutes, then sprinted away on two legs when he approached, outrunning him to a cliff area.

After returning to camp toward dusk the couple heard howl-like sounds circling and closing in, built a fire, and the husband on a wood run saw large widely spaced yellow eyes of something crouched nearby. They kept the fire and tried to sleep. In the morning while hiking to the main trail something flanked them on the right sounding like three bipeds while their normally barky dog stayed silent.

The witness was hunting alone from a ridge when repeated very loud, short guttural shouts or growls approached from about 200 yards to about 75 yards, accompanied by rapidly approaching breaking brush. He never saw the source but readied a camera and rifle while waiting motionless. After a spooked cow moose ran through a distant saddle, he threw rocks and fired a shot with no response and then left.

The second guest was sleeping in a makeshift lean-to with several other scouts during a survival exercise when getting up at night revealed a very tall, wide, dark hairy biped staring at the shelter. The figure approached with heavy steps and pushed on the shelter logs, causing partial collapse, before the group shouted and adults ran over as something crashed away into the woods. Leaders dismissed the claim as a prank and told the group to go back to sleep.

In April 1999 the witness and family were gathered around a campfire at night near a stream in the Tushar Mountains when they heard loud branch-breaking from the woods across the stream for several minutes. The sounds were followed by a human-like screaming cry that sent several children running to a nearby cabin. The witness, described as an avid hunter, said the cry matched no known local animal and thought a human prank was possible but unlikely.

Two companions on a multi-night archery hunting and camping trip heard a loud repeated yell/scream approaching their camp late at night. After driving to investigate and hearing it from closer range, they returned to find it within about a hundred yards, also hearing walking and stick-breaking nearby. Frightened, they hastily packed their tent and left the area by truck in the early morning without ever seeing the source.
Boy scouts see a tall creature walking fluidly while hiking at night
Three camp counselors were walking a trail at night when the narrator saw a tall, dark bipedal figure moving across a slope on the far side of a stream about 50-60 ft away. The figure passed near the group without answering their shouts, and a companion heard a rock-clacking stepping sound as it moved toward the stream ahead of them. The frightened group retreated to trees, waited until about 1 a.m., then continued out armed with sticks, finding no tracks afterward.

On a solo elk hunt in the same area the witness hiked through stripped timber and a bone scatter to a bowl holding many bedded deer. While returning near sunset he was followed by something matching his steps that he could not see, then heard growls from behind and across the creek. He kept a fire lit while packing and left camp, later reconsidering cougars as the source after hearing similar growls described as Sasquatch-related.
Possible camp stalking at Betsy Lake, Grandaddy Basin, Uinta Mountains
The witness was camping with relatives by a lake and sleeping in a tent. Around 2-3 a.m. the witness was awakened by heavy footsteps outside, something touching the tent, and sounds from the lake. The witness shouted and went outside, after which two unseen presences reportedly ran past the tents and left. A relative in another tent also heard them run past.
Scream in Utah (1984)
The witness, then about 12, was deer hunting with his father, brother and uncles at a mountain camp. Over several nights a loud screaming vocalization was heard around 9 p.m. and the uncles repeatedly chased the source uphill. One uncle confronted a very tall hair-covered biped at close range and fired over its head, while later nights brought a spotlight glimpse of a large dark mass, a small 4-foot figure, answering calls from another ridge, uprooted trees and reddish hair tufts, before the activity moved away.

The witness was walking through trees near Dodge Point when he heard loud stomping made by two feet. He then saw two trees being violently shaken and briefly saw a hairy left arm and shoulder between trees. The stomping subsided and he ran back to the house, then drove to town with his wife to tell her parents.

In 1977 the witness and his family were camped in the Utah mountains a couple days before hunting season. While scouting with his wife in the afternoon, a reddish-brown creature about 7 to 8 feet tall stepped out about 20 yards away, watched them for about 10 seconds, and was gone when they looked again. That night after snowfall the witness heard something moving around the tent, and the next morning huge tracks were found circling the tent.

The witness's grandfather was collecting ore samples at night when he heard heavy human-like footsteps moving around him in the snow. He then saw a large dark shape about 40 feet away. Frightened, he ran to his three-wheeler and fired a shot toward where the shape had been after it disappeared.

In August 1964 two teenagers were walking back to a family cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon after dark when they heard footsteps matching their movements and a low unearthly growl. They ran through a gully to the cabin and locked themselves inside. They then heard the nearby outhouse door open and slam, saw nothing when they turned on an outside light, later heard the door fling open with crashing in brush, and spent the night upstairs.

The witness's male coworker said he was doing water testing and sleeping in a van with a trailer at a remote reservoir with a work partner. He awoke to fast approaching footsteps, then felt the van jerk up as something jumped on the trailer tongue and saw a shadowy face with dread-like hair look into the window. Both men immediately drove out through the locked gate and saw no one else.
