Three companions were night fishing from a bridge when the witness exchanged whoop calls with something across a field that steadily approached. After packing gear and waiting by a truck with lights on, they heard footsteps in a ditch and briefly saw only the whitish-grey top of a head. The entity then gave a loud whoop from about 20 yards away, prompting them to flee, and daylight examination the next day suggested it was over seven feet tall.

The witness and a relative were walking back to their car after fishing at night when they heard movement in a nearby treeline paralleling them. On a summer night in 2008 the witness was night-fishing by a dam near family cabins when he heard rhythmic splashes crossing the shallow river about 100 feet away and felt intense fear, abandoning his gear to hide in a nearby cabin. Around the same night a relative sitting on a cabin deck smelled a strong death-like odor, heard movement on the stairs and under the cabin, and felt the cabin rock hard enough to knock a VCR and tape rack over. The two compared accounts the next morning on the drive home and concluded the cause was a bigfoot, keeping it to themselves.

The witness fled to a parent's room while heavy pacing was felt and heard around the house, then police were called but found nothing. The next morning the witness found large prints around windows and garden, recalled repeated early-morning howls, a growl with a branch breaking, grunting in the basement and a violently shaking backyard tree.
