Something gray and bulky crossed the trail, then something crashed from the trees, blew out the torch, and loomed over them as a dark mass with outstretched arms. They fled to the van, later heard something walking around and scratching the van, and next morning found scratch marks through paint.

From both sides of the fence they heard very heavy bipedal footsteps converge in front of them. The partner fled inside while the guest froze, saw nothing, felt something approach, shouted at it, then sounds and feeling normalized.
