Around a bend they encountered a very tall gray hairy biped standing in the trail holding half a dog and cloth-like material. One youth fled immediately while the witness froze, avoided looking at its face, then ran back to camp and claimed a bear sighting.

It appeared to move closer each time she looked away while heavy walking sounds approached. She told her son to walk then run to the car, abandoning gear except the gun.

The witness was in a tree stand when he heard higher-pitched chatter and movement approaching, followed by a grunt, silence, and sounds of two things running downhill. Using his crossbow scope he saw a dark-skinned hand on an oak and then a face peering at him, later stepping into a shooting lane. After he lowered his bow the female left downhill where a loud pop and crashing was heard, and a healthy snapped tree was photographed the next morning.

The witness's brother was walking to his stand in the dark when something screamed at him, followed by deep grunting and growling felt in his chest. He waited in his stand on the phone with the witness until daylight, then heard something crash through the woods like a freight train moving away. He left immediately and later they found only a few broken branches.

The witness was in a military tent with several friends and a dog when the dog began growling. He saw a huge cone-headed shadow with long arms standing on two feet outside the tent staring in. He held an axe waiting for it to rip the tent, but it walked away after about a minute.

The witness and his girlfriend were night hiking about 100 yards into a paved trail when they heard snaps, a heavy thud, and three deep grunts. They then heard two sets of footfalls circling toward the trail entrance. They left without seeing anything.

Friday night they heard close footsteps and saw hogs, Saturday they measured the sighting location and saw broken vegetation, and Saturday evening the friend silently alerted and later said a creature watched them from about 15 feet. On leaving they found fresh teepee-like grass structures with the same foul smell, and afterward both were questioned by supervisors who called it a bear.

The witness noticed a musky odor and breathing, turned on cab work lights, and found a tall hairy face leaning in within a few feet. When the trailer engine kicked on, both were startled, the creature slapped the unit hard enough to break fiberglass and then ran across a field with heavy footfalls.

They then heard bipedal shuffling approach, crouch down beside the car out of sight in brush, linger about thirty seconds, then walk off toward the deer. Neither saw the source.

After feeling dread and hearing movement and strange chattering laughter from a laurel thicket, he fired a warning shot and saw a hairy bipedal figure emerge. He fled as it pursued parallel to him until he reached his house, where he and his brother later fired into the woods.

The guest was asleep in his tent with his dog when a proximity alarm woke him about 11:45. Something walked around the tent, handled items on his table, then pressed through the tent fabric behind his head and gently manipulated his head and face with a very large hand. He triggered his truck alarm lights, after which it moved off. The whole sequence lasted about nine minutes and was captured on an audio recorder.
