They saw nothing in the dense woods and eventually left.

In mid-July the witness overnighted with the retired veterinarian after hanging game cameras. Around 1:45 a.m. he heard something walk around his tent three times and snap a twig. A strong rotten meat and feces odor then filled the area and made his eyes water. He did not see the source.

The witness and his wife were awakened around 3 a.m. by loud screaming sounds outside their home. The witness went to the rear deck with a shotgun and heard prolonged commotion including shaking trees in multiple spots, breaking limbs, running footsteps approaching the deck, and aggressive grunting very close by. They did not see anything, kept lights off out of fear, and then heard what sounded like several large creatures retreating to the tree line. The next day they found pushed-over bushes and freshly broken branches.

He said he pursued to high ground and aimed through his rifle scope, but branches fell near him and loud movement approached from both sides, prompting him to retreat and later fire toward the hollow. A single track was reported in the creek bottom the next day, but erosion had removed detail.

On a hot Memorial Weekend the witness and a friend camped in tents at an abandoned riverside campsite miles from the original area. They heard surrounding whoops, rock hits on tents, thumping from all sides, and a tree pushed over. Through the night something walked through camp, repeatedly charged the witness tent and grabbed the tent floor, showing large knuckled hands. They left at dawn.

The witness and his wife were hiking down from a summit in the morning when they heard non-rhythmic clapping-like sounds about 100 feet away in thicker woods, with walking and branch-breaking noises between the sounds. They stopped to listen for about a minute, then advanced toward the area but found no sound or movement. Further down the trail the witness tried reproducing the sound with tree knocks, rocks, and hand claps, finding cupped hand claps matched most closely.

The witness joined a multi-day guided expedition in dense woods. The group found distinct five-toed tracks, heard an owl-call answered oddly, heard a warning-like howl and later chatter, and saw saplings broken at angles. While forward of the group at night the witness used thermal to see a large heat mass between trees that vanished, and shortly after others in the same vicinity were growled at.

The witness and his brother were coyote hunting at night from a blind with an electronic call. They heard owl-like hooting from nearby that shifted into loud monkey-like screaming, followed by loud bipedal running directly behind the blind. They could not see anything with night vision and the sounds stopped abruptly, after which they left for the truck.

Two brothers waiting outside an abandoned tunnel with dogs heard a loud roar from the trees and something very large breaking branches for about ten minutes. They froze, hearing padding in undergrowth without ever seeing it. Days later they found a very large footprint about twenty inches long.

They heard childlike vocalizations, saw low eyeshine, then watched a dark six-foot figure with long arms peer from between trees. The witness and a companion were harvesting ginseng when they heard repeated unusual sounds including a low growl and a loud siren-like tone. Over several minutes they heard heavy fast footsteps and watched smaller trees shake violently while catching partial glimpses of a large bipedal creature that kept trees between itself and them. Several trees snapped and fell in the same direction, and rocks were later seen rolling down a nearby point. The pair inspected freshly broken trees before leaving the area the way they came.
