On leaving they found fresh teepee-like grass structures with the same foul smell, and afterward both were questioned by supervisors who called it a bear.

Something large walked directly in front of the small opening in five loud bipedal steps, blocking the light, and crossed about ten yards over a creek. They hid then fled and never slept there again.
