Early one morning in March 1982 the witness was feeding young cattle in an outdoor pen on a dairy farm. After hearing a grunt, the witness saw a tall dark bipedal figure stand up near a hay feeder and then walk away toward the woods and over a fence. The witness heard crunching footsteps and fence noise for several seconds, then later found no tracks after the frost melted.
Scream in Massachusetts (1982)
The witness and a companion were sitting by a fire with a tent behind them when they heard a distant loud scream. Something then rushed down the cart road at high speed, braked, and screamed so loudly it was felt through the body. The witness fired a shotgun blast through his own tent, then they fled on foot hearing it pace them. Later that night at home they heard the same scream on a movie and the companion left upset.

The guest and friends stayed midweek at a remote cabin near Osage Beach in August. At night the group had wood chunks and pebbles thrown at them and heard loud whooping, and companions heard splashing while night fishing. The next morning companions reported a hairy bear-like figure by fish guts, the woodpile was toppled, and a beaver dam was found destroyed with a pulled-apart carcass. While squirrel hunting along the creek the guest and his companion watched a five-foot ape-like creature wading and looking in the water, which approached his companion then left after clicking sounds were exchanged with another unseen individual.
Whoop in Texas (1982)
The witness, then about 11, went with his father to a surveyor's home in deep East Texas and followed the surveyor's young son down a thin trail behind the house to a deadfall. The son gave whooping calls, after which the witness heard approaching footsteps, heavy breathing like a horse, a deep word-like vocalization and a powerful percussive sound, then breaking limbs. The witness fled back to the house as a tall dark figure ran alongside through the brush, stopping when he screamed for his father.
Possible Nightime Encounter In Wharton State Forest
When the witness was 14, he camped alone in a forested area and noticed something in the brush paralleling him as he returned to camp near dark. The presence circled the camp and later approached the tent, producing an extremely loud scream followed by growls and chatter, then retreated after the frightened witness yelled back. The witness stayed awake all night, left at first light, and never saw what made the sounds.

The witness and a companion were walking along a road after sundown when the witness heard movement on an elevated fence row. The witness climbed up to look across a cut corn field and saw a tall slender brown shaggy figure walking along a ditch, which stepped into a ditch bank after being shouted at. They ran back to the companion's house, and the witness returned the next day to find large human-like footprints in lime dust.
Sighting by a hunter on the edge of a road
The witness was walking back to his camper after hunting when he heard heavy footsteps and waited on the road. An upright bear-like figure appeared in an opening, faced him and froze for a few seconds before turning and leaving silently. He later searched for tracks but found none due to hard ground, then returned with his wife to estimate its size.

The witness was walking alone in thick woods carrying a BB gun late in the morning. The witness noticed a brown-colored subject moving very fast at an angle across the view, first thinking it was a person on a dirt bike. The witness then realized there was no engine noise, only the sound of breaking sticks, and left the area quickly without telling anyone at the time.

Around midnight during a meteor shower outing, the witness was alone in a clearing, felt watched, then heard nearby rustling and ran back to camp. Shortly after, the group noticed an extremely strong sulfurous musky odor coming from a stand of trees. They pursued stomping and thrashing sounds uphill but never saw the source, and the pursuers fled after the sound and smell abruptly stopped.

In late June or early July 1981, the witness was sleeping on the floor of a friend's home when awakened by an unusual humming and grumbling sound. She saw the outline of a large broad-shouldered figure with a muscular arm and hand cupped to look through a high upper window, which she estimated would require at least seven feet of height. The figure looked in for about a minute, then walked around the house into the woods as the humming resumed. A search the next morning found no tracks in the hard-packed dirt.

Two people walking with a dog heard something moving through the woods away from them and followed the sound to a creek. On a sandbar in the middle of the creek they found a single large, fresh human-like barefoot print and saw no other prints on the higher far bank. They inferred a very long stride and returned up the road without seeing the source.

The witness was turkey hunting with a companion in wooded river bottomland and walked back toward the parked truck after dark. An unseen source in the woods kept pace about 100 feet away for about ten minutes, including keeping up when the witness ran about 100 yards. The witness heard it snap a large fallen tree in two, suggesting great weight. The witness reached the road area, slept in the truck overnight, and heard no additional screams or strange noises.

They heard something large moving in the woods behind them and then saw a tall hair-covered being partly obscured behind a tree a short distance away. The figure disappeared quietly without a clear departure sound, leaving them frightened, and they left the area quickly.

The witness had spent years hiking and riding in groves near the Everglades. One night in 1981 he walked a wooded trail and heard a strange sound, then footsteps that paralleled him and then chased him as he ran toward lights. He escaped to a condominium and later to a friend's house, concluding he had been chased by a skunk ape.

The witness and his friend camped and fished over a weekend at a remote creek below a ridge road. They experienced pebbles and rocks thrown, pacing, huffing, wood knocks, a disturbed fire pit and scattered poles. A large creature then came down the ridge into the creek, growled at them from about 20 yards, and left. A DNR officer later found prints, cast them, and called them bear tracks.

The witness was left to walk up a long steep driveway at night after others drove ahead and heard heavy steps matching her own. Near a lit barn she saw a very tall shadow, ran, and felt it breathing over her head. Her dog intervened and was picked up and thrown over a pool, suffering severe tearing, and hairs not belonging to the dog were later found in its mouth.

The witness arrived late for an evening deer hunt and climbed a stand. A doe bedded under the stand, then a tall black creature jumped about 20 feet between trees and stared with intense eye contact. After he aimed his scoped rifle it growled, beat a tree, exchanged whistles with another unseen mover, and he fled half a mile to his truck. He fired a warning shot, drove away as a hand reached for the tailgate, and saw a second creature in the mirror.

The witness was bowhunting from a climbing tree stand at dusk when he heard extremely loud screams and heavy footsteps moving around his stand within 50 yards. Frightened, he jumped from the stand and retreated toward the road while the unseen source paralleled him and continued screaming. At the road his hunting companion was waiting on top of the vehicle, having also heard the vocalizations.

The witness was home watching a baseball game when a strange noise from the back porch prompted investigation with a pistol. The witness reported seeing a large dark upright shadow-like figure running toward the woods, firing shots, then seeing it again near an old stable and firing again without hitting it. Afterwards the witness found a porch freezer broken into with frozen food scattered, plus white hairs and ground impressions.
