The witness was bow hunting alone between two trails at dusk when footsteps approached from behind. A large black figure came into view about 75 feet away and faced the witness for about a minute while swaying side to side. The witness did not shoot, the figure turned and walked away the way it came, and no tracks were found the next day due to leaf cover.

The witness and a companion were at a remote camp in the evening when they heard a loud mule-like wailing scream and then saw a tall hairy creature with a relatively hairless face in a spotlight. The creature showed eye reflection, covered its eyes from the light, braced between two small trees with large hairless-palmed hands, then shambled away. The pair heard movement around camp all night and the next day found freshly twisted tree limbs nearby but no usable tracks due to dry ground.

The witness went bow hunting alone in the early morning, climbing into a tree stand in a state park by a cornfield. The forest went silent and he heard loud bipedal footsteps approaching down the trail, then quiet movement stopping in front of his stand. He drew his bow and tapped an arrow against it, after which the creature fled very fast across the field as a tall dark shadow. He left at sunrise and says he never returned to that park.

Later that night around 2-3 am they heard heavy bipedal footsteps in pine needles moving behind their tent, but saw nothing when they looked out. While mountain biking, the witness heard a large animal moving in brush off the trail but could not see it. About 200 yards farther up the trail, the group found very large detailed footprints overlying companions' tracks, which left the trail for a meadow and reappeared crossing the road about half a mile farther on. Coincidentally encountered bear hunters also examined the prints and were unfamiliar with them.

The footfalls sounded clearly bipedal and the unseen mover easily kept pace through steep, brushy terrain. Five teenagers camped overnight under a cliff overhang in the national forest. Around midnight they heard heavy bipedal footsteps approach and stop behind a large poplar tree below the camp. Two of them used flashlights to watch red eyeshine peeking from the tree, then the creature stepped fully into view for about ten seconds before retreating behind the tree and later leaving diagonally through the hollow making huffing sounds.

The witness, then 16 and volunteering at a day camp near the Molalla River, was left alone seated on a log while a companion went back toward camp. About 50 feet away beside a large tree, a tall, wide, brown-furred man-like figure made direct eye contact for a few seconds. It then stepped behind the tree and ran away loudly, snapping branches, after which the witness ran back toward camp and met the companion.

The witness was walking ahead of her husband toward a fishing spot at a strip pit when a very loud screaming began just behind her. She crouched and covered her ears as the screams repeated, then heard the source run, jump a creek, and crash through brush and small trees on the far side. Her husband, who had been following behind, heard the screams and joined her to watch the vegetation move as the creature left. They left the area without returning for prints after rain washed the site.

Two people camping near a ravine heard rhythmic steps and saw a pair of large, long black-haired legs walking across the slope about 30 yards away. The companion moved closer but dense trees prevented a view of the full figure. After relocating their tent near other campers, both were awakened around 3 a.m. by heavy pounding nearby followed by three high shrill screams.

They then noticed a tall shadowy figure just beyond the firelight that turned to face them, showing eye reflection and a strong foul wet-animal odor. After staring for under a minute, the figure ran upslope through brush breaking branches, while the group shouted and then kept the fire up all night.

Shortly after, they heard the sound again much closer, estimated at about 50 feet behind the tent, and everyone froze. After a quiet period they heard approaching crunching, loud branch breaking and a massive tree snap, followed by an extremely loud prolonged female-like scream. They all fled on foot back to the car and drove away, too frightened to return.

Over three consecutive nights an exchange student staying in the lower level reported a face watching him through the window while working out. The witness heard car-door-like slams and footsteps with no vehicle present, and on the final night the witness and the father chased outside and heard something crashing rapidly and powerfully through dense woods away from any road.
