Growl in Ohio (2024)
The witness returned to the same trail area with a cousin and left apples after knocking and calling. They heard a very deep growl from a low bush and chatter-like sounds behind them, then cracking sounds circling their camp until rain. Later the witness saw two pairs of bright amber eyes peering from behind trees, spoke to them, and the eyes vanished; the apples were gone on the way out.

The witness and three friends camped in the park in summer 2019 and hiked the towpath trail near the river after dusk. They had sticks then small rocks thrown behind them, smelled a pungent odor, felt watched, and fled. After stopping to rest they heard a loud deep growl and saw a very tall dark-haired humanoid in a weapon-mounted light before it stepped behind an oak and disappeared. They ran to camp, heard disturbances overnight, and in the morning found the campsite strewn about, a food pot missing, and two neat piles of large rocks by the fire pit.

Late at night the witness was alerted by his dog barking intensely at the woods across the street. He shone a flashlight and saw blinking eyeshine high up, which a family member dismissed as an owl. After firing a BB gun toward the light, he heard something crash quickly through dense undergrowth to the left while the dog ran to keep pace and kept staring at the spot where the movement stopped.

While at the mother's house late at night, the witness twice heard soft muffled tapping on the dining-room picture window while dozing. She photographed the window without looking, saw eyeshine low down, then turned off the light and recorded video showing lights moving higher on the window.

The witness was making coffee at about 3 a.m. when she saw widely spaced large yellow eyes looking through a window, with a dark width blocking the outside light and shifting side to side. She backed away and waited in the dark until daylight while a rank skunk-like odor entered the house. After daylight, she and a relative found a strong odor in the yard, vegetation matted and crushed under the window, and squirrel corn missing.

The witnesses were camped overnight in a tent when they heard loud screams and later activity just outside the tent described as pulling grass. One witness shined a flashlight toward the tree line and reported large yellow eyes close together that then turned toward the woods. They reported hearing movement retreating into the woods, then packed their vehicle and drove home in the early morning hours.
Possible nighttime encounter near Spencer leaves three men startled
Late at night three companions pulled over by an overgrown archery field to look for deer and noticed green eyeshine wide apart just above tall grass. The source of the eyes stood upright to a great height, looked toward them, then walked into the adjoining woods. After leaving, they returned for a size comparison with a 6-foot companion walking toward the treeline while the others watched from the truck; the figure reappeared, stood up and towered over the companion before leaving into the woods again.
20 miles SE of Dayton: Fishing couple stalked by a sasquatch at Caesar Creek State Park
Two people had been fishing at Caesar Creek Lake and were packing up after sundown when a growling/hissing sound came from the treeline. They shone a flashlight into the woods and saw green eyes, heard trees and brush thrashing as something moved, and smelled a strong scat-like stench. After watching about five minutes they gathered gear and walked back to the parking area feeling watched.

The witness had parked at the road to collect firewood and was returning to the truck when a large hairy bipedal creature crossed the road about 30 yards away and entered the woods. The witness drove to the crossing point and saw yellow eye reflection looking back from the woods before it disappeared and the witness left. An investigator later visited the site with the witness and documented the road and surroundings.

At age 12, the witness was lying on his bed watching TV in the family's trailer when he felt watched and looked toward the large rear window. Inches away on the other side of the glass stood a huge, broad, black-haired creature staring in with red eyes and a blank expression for several minutes. The creature bent slightly to look down into the elevated window, its eyes moving to look the witness over, before turning its head in a blur and leaving. Terrified, the witness fled to sleep in the bathroom and later told his father, who laughed it off.

The witness was awakened at night by something pulling and scratching at locked shed doors. From a bedroom window she watched a small hair-covered biped with its fingers in the door crack for several minutes. When she opened a back door and turned on a porch light, the creature looked toward her and then ran quickly on two legs into an overgrown field.

The witness was riding as a passenger with a friend on a snowy back road at night. Headlights illuminated a tall, hair-covered biped standing by a Y-shaped tree very close to the car. It squinted, shielded its eyes with a large hand, showed large teeth, then turned showing muscular definition and walked downhill away as the pair fled.

The next night near dumpsters by the river, the group heard angry gorilla-like grunting and recorded the last 30 seconds as the East Central Ohio Bigfoot Chatter. The guest listened with a bionic ear as a bipedal creature climbed a steep bank and watched from behind a tree for about 20 minutes with faint reddish-orange eyeshine.

On the first night of an April BFRO expedition, the guest and two companions heard powerful rapid thumping behind them and then heard bipedal steps approaching through grass and river. Their flashlights revealed high greenish-blue eyes that widened and turned away before leaving. The next day they found a deer torn in two pieces about 40 feet apart with bones intact.

The witness and a friend camped in a van at a gravel turnaround in the national forest. Through the night gravel hit the van roof, brush crashed on different sides of the hill, and eyeshine appeared downhill. Shining a spotlight revealed a tall, thick ape-like figure staring up that they then fled from.
Possible approach at night near Chesterland
After storms, the witness drove alone at night to a park to watch for activity. Looking down a private lane near a parking lot, she saw a set of large blue-white eyes high off the ground with smaller similar lights below. The eyes stayed still then swayed while the smaller lights moved and appeared and disappeared, prompting her to leave. She returned shortly with relatives but found no trace.
Possible stalking near Salt Fork Lake spillway (drains into Wills Creek)
The witness was catfishing alone at night by a spillway when he illuminated a pair of eyes watching him from across the water. He kept his light on the eyes, tried a deer snort and threw rocks, after which the eyes backed away silently and the animal walked toward brush. He left shaken, estimating the animal at about 5.5 to 6 feet tall despite never seeing its body.
Motorist has a nighttime sighting just outside of Chardon
The witness was driving home from work late at night when headlights caught glowing eyes beside the road. Looking in the rearview mirror, she saw a very large, thick-limbed silhouette standing in the road behind her under bright moonlight. She stopped to watch as the upright, slightly bent figure crossed the road and disappeared into trees on the other side.
Two young men have a sighting while tending a campfire near Cardington
The witness and a friend were maintaining a camp fire at night behind the friend's house near a wooded ravine. When the witness stepped toward the ravine to gather twigs, he saw a tall black form standing in tall weeds below and watched it move side to side before it looked up showing red eye reflection. After the friend also looked and fled to the house, the form ran across the creek toward a field and the witness ran inside.
Ongoing accounts with a screaming ape-like creature
The main witness sat in a tree stand at night watching for deer. A tall creature with eye shine emerged from the tree line, stopped, crouched and swayed while looking toward the stand, then moved quickly on a course toward it. The witness left the stand and ran to the house, arriving visibly frightened.
