Hearing brush breaking across the ravine, he shone his flashlight and saw a tall hair-covered biped with a very large head, no visible neck, very long arms, and widely spaced glowing orange eyes. He fled back to the tent in terror and was not believed when he told others.

He heard impacts on a metal container, then saw a dark upright figure by the trees that crept toward him as rocks were thrown. He fled to his car, struggled to open a locked gate, then faced a much larger red-eyed figure that snapped a branch, vocalized loudly, and bluff-charged. He escaped in his car with damage to the vehicle.

Early one morning in 1972 or 1973 the witness rode with a relative toward a hunting area when headlights revealed an animal leaving an orchard and crossing the road on all fours. The animal turned its head toward the vehicle, showing teeth, then went into a ditch, stood upright and stepped over a fence before disappearing from view. The relative acknowledged an animal crossing but did not see the upright movement and later did not recall the event.
