Four teenage friends were spending the night around a large fire inside an abandoned steel-mill building. After wild dogs chased something over a nearby coke pile and were thrown off, a massive wolf-like creature appeared on the mound, then confronted the group, stood upright, growled, and followed them into the building up to the third floor while drooling heavily. A passing train sounded its horn, frightening the creature away, after which the group waited before fleeing on foot back to a friend's house.

The witness and friends drove to a remote gravel road to party at night. After a loud crash from a tree, something bipedal circled them making growling sounds and then gave a loud roar they could feel. It stepped into the spotlight as a massive white figure, climbed a bank in three steps and rushed their truck before they fled, later returning in daylight to find impressions on the bank.

As a child helping his father work late on their house without running water, the witness went outside for water and felt watched. He turned to see two glowing red eyes a couple feet off the ground that rose to about eight feet. He screamed, his father came with a nail gun, and the eyes disappeared.

The guest and the same cousin were hunting with dogs at night along a creek bed near a dirt road curve. Both felt watched and heard extra steps behind them, then returned toward the parked truck. At the road the dogs froze, and the guest's spotlight revealed a hairy figure across the road by a culvert that covered its face with a hand before stepping into the dry creek as they left.

In 1987 the witness and a college roommate were driving on Highway 512 in Mississippi late on a Saturday night after a football game. A very tall upright creature covered in reddish-brown fur stepped from roadside bushes and crossed the highway in front of their car. It paused near the center line to look toward the headlights, then continued into the woods on the far side.

Two of the men observed one figure at close range, about nine feet away, shining a flashlight on its face, noting yellow eyes and a dragging right leg. The crew was camped on the bank of Blackwater Creek eating dinner when a splash revealed their cooler in the creek was missing. Shortly after, a companion returned shaken saying something had watched him from across the creek. The witness shone a spotlight across the narrow creek and the group saw a large hair-covered biped stand up, its eyes shining, block the light with its forearm, vocalize, and flee. The men then left for a motel for the remainder of the job.

As a small child the witness wandered away from family while they were cliff-jumping and camping and became lost near high cliffs. At dusk the forest went silent and she saw a large dark bipedal creature across the gorge staring at her. Her father found her, saw the same creature, told her to stay quiet, and ran with her back to camp where others were searching.
Man had deer stolen by creature near Lakehead
A homeowner had shot a deer and hung it in a tree behind the house. That night while going to let dogs out, he heard an unfamiliar scream and saw a large ape-like creature in the yard. The creature seized the deer and fled into the forest, tearing out a stretch of barbed-wire fence and leaving hair and tracks. A friend visiting the next day was shown where it stood and ran, including the tracks and hair.

Three teenagers staying overnight at a wilderness cabin woke after 1 a.m. to see a head and broad shoulders silhouetted in a moonlit upstairs window, with lightly glowing orange-red eyes peering inside. The closest teen moved away, the figure dropped from view, and the group shut the shade and remained shaken. The family dog was unusually spooked and refused walks the next day.

Two teenage stepbrothers were driving a Jeep at night shining for deer. They spotted large eyeshine and a huge hair-covered body about 20 yards away. The passenger shot twice with a .30-30, the first shot appeared to drop it, then a second creature approached from the side and they fled. They returned the next day and found no blood or body.

As a young child riding in the bed of her family's pickup truck at night, the witness woke to her parents panicking while a large black hairy animal chased and gained on the truck. The animal ran on its knuckles, climbed onto the tailgate, and reached toward her with a leathery human-like hand while making a rumbling sound. Her father shot at it, it fell off and rolled, and she then saw a second tall skinny brownish-reddish hairy figure lean over it.

The witness and two companions were camped by a remote lake after dusk when they noticed amber eyes in the woods up the hill. After rocks were thrown, the animal stood and moved toward them on two legs, then circled their camp for about three hours while staying outside the firelight. The witness described it as 7 to 8 feet tall, agile on two legs, and curious rather than aggressive, and it left after fuel thrown on the fire made a flare. No tracks or other sign were found the next morning.

The witness was driving down the mountain to work in the pre-dawn dark when she saw widely spaced red eyes on a hill. She stopped and watched a large hairy biped come down sideways into her headlights. It experienced a loss of time moving to her windshield, communicated reassurance without speaking, then crossed the road through saplings and a creek into the woods.

The witness, then about 12, was deer hunting with his father, brother and uncles at a mountain camp. Over several nights a loud screaming vocalization was heard around 9 p.m. and the uncles repeatedly chased the source uphill. One uncle confronted a very tall hair-covered biped at close range and fired over its head, while later nights brought a spotlight glimpse of a large dark mass, a small 4-foot figure, answering calls from another ridge, uprooted trees and reddish hair tufts, before the activity moved away.

On the first night the family was at the unfinished house after dark, the guest walked toward a window and saw a pair of glowing red eyes in the top pane. The eyes were high off the ground and stared back for several minutes until family called and the presence vanished.

Three hunters camped in a river bottom over the opening weekend of bow season. Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.

Two people were spotlighting deer in a wildlife management area in central Florida around 2 a.m. for bow-season scouting. They observed a pair of eyes estimated about 7 to 8 feet off the ground and about a foot apart from roughly 150 feet away. As they left they heard an extremely loud piercing scream and drove away quickly without later searching for sign.

The group heard a noise ahead, then saw a very tall upright figure with red eyeshine in the weak flashlight beam. After companions threw objects at it and a deep growl was heard, the group fled to nearby outbuildings and later to a house for help.
