A family driving in the evening on Austin Bridge Road toward Ridge Road encountered a tall animal standing in the road near Mein Mitchell Road. The animal was described as about 9 to 10 feet tall with a bear-like, barrel-chested body standing upright, dark hair, and a wolf-like face with red glowing eyes. After watching for about two minutes from about 200 yards away, the driver turned the vehicle around and took a different route.

From near their elevated pool deck, they shone a flashlight on an unknown figure with red eyes positioned just above deck level. The witness and a companion were working late at night preparing meat to feed sled dogs. While inside a walk-in freezer, the heavy door shut on them unexpectedly despite calm conditions. After exiting, they shone a light toward a trailer and saw a pair of very large reflective eyes about seven feet off the ground roughly twenty yards away. The eyes were gone after they returned with a brighter light, and the dogs that had been barking fell silent.

They scanned with a powerful spotlight and saw a hairy upright figure partly hidden behind a tree about 20-30 yards away, with yellow eye glow. It stayed motionless for 30 to 60 seconds and was gone after the light was briefly turned away.

After a storm knocked out power, the witness walked a powerline to check for damage and then headed back toward the house. They noticed blinking eye-like lights high off the ground, smelled a musky odor, and made out a large bulky dark shape in weak flashlight light before running to the house. A short time later the witness returned with a brighter light and companions, saw the blinking eyes again in woods beside the house, then heard movement and a throaty howl as it left.

The witness was driving down a mountain road at night after dropping off a companion when headlights illuminated a large hairy figure sitting on a log beside the road. The figure stood, leapt into the roadway, and ran across into dense cover while the witness watched. The witness stopped, turned off the vehicle, and listened briefly to heavy crashing footsteps receding into the woods before driving on and noticing a nearby campfire gathering.
